I think it's easy to underestimate just how good he and Scales were. Obviously, their defending was excellent; but it's more than that. The way they dominated the Hun attackers meant that a ball forward essentially returned possession to us and the Huns couldn't build any momentum.

Then there's Ralston and the referee: Ralston is so slow that he has little choice but to stand off his winger and let them cross and that referee was itching to give them free kicks, yet CCV and Scales somehow just seem to deal with it as if it were normal to face that many balls into the box.

Without these 2, we'd be in a lot more trouble than we already are.

 

He could teach our midfield how to dribble hassle free by an entire team.

 

It is not his fault but the number of times he carries the ball forward and cant find anyone ahead showing for the ball is so frustrating. Ends up either having to hold for too long and losing it or just passing back the way.
