They definitely saw him as a threat as they doubled up on him when he was on the ball. Hopefully a positive sign.

I’ve not engaged with you in ages, I’ve not had an issue.

You just contradicted yourself saying “Am probably the most forgiving poster on here in terms of giving new signings time to settle in”… then continue to say he was *.

You even said he did less than * all, which actually isn’t true and is a harsh summary.

You've literally just slated someone after he's had 1 training session with us. Away to our biggest rivals in one of the worst teams we've had in years.

You won't acknowledge how poor the team is though as the state of it is your wet dream.

The guys not a winger and we all know he's not a winger, we still need wingers. Punt Hatate and play him there.

That's not contradicting myself in the slightest. That would be me saying something daft like 'he's pish, will never make it here'. Just saying he was * in the game is nowhere near what you're trying to make out.

And to prove my point about the absolute state of some folk reading nonsense into my posts, just look at this * idiot below...

I won't acknowledge how poor the team is...have you just not bothered to read just about any other thread in the past hour? :56:

Unbelievable man. More embarrassing than the pish we served up today.

It is a contradiction mate. You explicitly saying he was * and did less than * all is not a fair or forgiving. It’s knee *, it’s an overreaction.

It’s ok to admit when you’re wrong or post something too quickly after a game. I do it myself quite often.

Too soon to judge, but at least he has the basics in terms of excellent ball control and ability to pass.
    Unlike Yang and Maeda.

Very unlucky with the foul against him first half when potentially through on goal.

This thread should be nowhere near as active as it is.

There were obviously some concerns about him prior to him signing, and we absolutely dragged the * out of his signing, but he was, at worst, a 6/10 today, there were far worse players.

Feel like some people have made up their mind on him already.

I disagree, to my eyes he was very poor and the occasion got to him. Again not that it means much going forward, I still have high hopes for him. If of course we manage to find a bit of form as a collective.

While I didn’t personally think he was *, I agree with the principle of what you’re saying.

By some people’s logic, if he scored 3 own goals then got sent off you couldn’t opine it was a * performance on the day because he’s new.

Clearly you’re not writing him off.

I’ve never trusted your eyes tbf.

He wasn’t good, but the team wasn’t good. He showed what I wanted to see though and that was hard work, pressing, tracking back, making runs. At a minimum we had to see that. On the ball, it’ll come.

Engels had the opportunity to take a quick free kick at one point and Balikwisha made 3 separate runs in behind. Engels just stood there. The Hun defence was also just standing there.

Also I’m choosing to ignore the fact you called me a cabbage.

That's exactly what am getting at. You need to try and say things as you see them which I always try to do. You can still have an overall view of a players progress and how they can fit in the team going forward.

Am usually the one backing the 500 grand punt from timbuktu to make it here when every other * is calling for people's heads. It's mind numbing having to interact with some folk on here at times.

That’s not true and I think you know that.

People still use wildly unrealistic hypotheticals to back up their points and it doesn’t work like that.

Like saying Yamal would of came in and performed. Mental.

Seen enough to know he doesn't have the pace we want, but not enough to know if he is gonna be good or bad.
Not everyone NEEDS pace, but wingers certainly benefit most from it.
Will certainly get game time to impress and prove himself, but needs to shake this game off, take the international break well and come back hopefully with the rest of the squad in a better mental state.

Otherwise, one would question what we saw in the guy after chassing, monitoring, tracking and haggling for over 13 months and not realise he didn't fit the side - hypothetically.

The hypothetical is to demonstrate the difference between an opinion on an individual performance in a match vs. wider context, which, respectfully, you are not understanding.
