He was our best player outwith Scales today.

The only one trying to pay a forward pass and could see his technique. McGregor and Hatate were woeful.

 

Carter-Vickers was better.

 

Would Swansea take him too???

 

I guarantee a different manager would get a tune out of him. We have so many talented players who look like duds and for me Rodgers is blatantly the reason for that.

 

Starting to look that way. No coincidence that every player seems to have went to * at the same time.

 

Binning him and Idah this window would turn it from a diabolical one to a useful one.

However he was actually one of our better players today. Maybe the guy in the dugout is the biggest hindrance at the moment.

 

No coincidence is exactly it. The answer is clear as day to me.

 

He’s a deep lying midfielder with a good range of passing. I’d love to see him in a double pivot with McGregor.

 

I personally think we should be going back to 4-2-3-1 Ala Rodgers season 16/17 and 17/18.

Not liking 4-3–3 at the moment. Think we have done it to death now

 

Play him deeper.

Played a few nice passes today that might have created chances if we had any confidence or quality about us.

 

We’re too predictable. Teams know exactly how we set up and it’s far too easy to counter it.

 

I thought he was better than Hatate and McGregor today. Low bar I know but he defo wasn't the worst for us.

He was okay today

 

He started off poorly but I felt like he was starting to get into the game a bit more just as he was taken off

 

I really disagree with this. I was at the game and felt that Hatate was okay. He never stopped taking and showing for the ball in difficult positions and I actually felt that he was one of our better players in possession.

I can’t remember Engels winning a tackle or getting a shot away. Playing where he does his remit is to contribute in the attacking third. It has to be more than the odd pretty pass or set piece.

I can’t see the thinking of playing him deeper in the pitch either when he has no physicality to his game and doesn’t win tackles. It’s not going to solve our midfield issue.

 

Thought he was the best midfielder in a Celtic shirt which admittedly isn’t saying much.

He’s being weighed down heavily by the price we paid for him, which is no fault of his or the managers and entirely on the * idiots running our club. I think he could do a job sitting deeper along with McGregor in more of a 4231 which Rodgers went with in his first spell here.
