• Let's Idah and Yang all but conclude their deals - so it can now be completed really quickly, giving more time to get replacement striker / winger in.
• Uses Idah to force board into higher quality deadline signings by recalling/blocking him - all whilst being privately overjoyed Idah is going and dangling the carrot of a decent return on a player the board were forced into over paying for?
• Effectively forcing more spending commitments via the carefully pre scripted presser and all that 'bleed for club' and 'I am sure they will invest' plus 'maybe I'll stay' stuff

 

Absolutely * that talk. How quickly we opened talks with Dolberg we knew he was an option, £8.5m for him should have been in addition to Idah, before Kairat.


And if it wasn’t possible before then, should be another option.

Frantic googling, can’t see anything like that, everyone has us as £8m, they want £8.5m when it’s mentioned what they want but majority have it as stalemate in fee

 

Belgian media are saying £12.5m(15m euros) is what Anderlecht are after.

 

That actually does seem far more what he should be than £8.5m. He’d be above £15m if we were a EPL team guaranteed

 

This whole Idah/Dolberg situation just completely shows us up once more.

Swansea have effectively done everything to get him signed in the space of about 24 hours.

Meanwhile we’ve still yet to agree a fee for Dolberg.

Perfect illustration - if you pay the value of a player (or in Idah case, over the value) then deals are easy.

But if you continually lowball, deals are hard, often impossible.
If you wait until the end of window, it's even harder and costs more, a lot more and less players are available.

That's where Celtic are. It's sheer negligence.

 

I'd okay the Idah deal, cancel the search for a striker and invest the money from that sale in a CM capable of filling in at either full back position. A hard-working, tough player.

 

Think Dolberg will sign today and Idah will be away. To * this one up would take some doing even for our board.
