I'm not embarrassed by anything. It's funny you want to persist with imaginary victories where you were apparently proven right on a player on a player in a 2 week window. A player who I had said career was on life support and was fast running out of chances.

The receipts of that discussion are there and they don't support your version.

You like a lot of the extremists in our support are so utterly fanatical about players that balance doesn't come into it. A player can't simply be slightly better or slightly worse than another player. That's why I brought those examples up and when I bring those examples up you resort to attacking the man rather than debating the point. It's embarrassing for a grown man which I presume you are to have to get so insecure and aggressive when somebody doesn't agree with you and actually is able to articulate it in a civil manner.

If you don't agree you can say so with out resorting to saying another person is talking rubbish or nonsense or muck.

You came after me in this thread remember not the other way around and what I have said on Dolberg. Time will tell whether he is a massive improve on Idah. Maybe he will be, maybe he won't but I can tell you are all hot air and have zero conviction in what you say. Give me the tangible parameters that say Dolberg is a tangible improvement on Idah? Let us judge that at the season end. Last season Idah scored 20 in 53, the season before that 9 in 19. We can factor minutes and penalties out of it too. What will be a massive improvement for Dolberg in tangible objective numbers? Again you clearly don't have the same confidence as your got air proclaims.

You keep saying I was proved wrong on a conversation we had a few weeks back. A conversation where I said his manager was losing faith with him, his form wasn't good enough, he was missing too many chances, he wasn't aggressive enough and he was playing for his Celtic career. That doesn't seem like I was proved wrong at all but as we can see from all your hot air on Dolberg, you are being very disingenuous. You can attack me all you want as you have zero conviction in what I say.

    Answer me these few questions:
I've said that people are getting carried away by Dolberg? What is wrong with that?

His stats are nothing special. I think it's 24/25 league goals from play in 72 top flight games for Anderlecht, 70 as a starter. That doesn't strike me as anything other than ok. Idah for example is 18 in 52.

Before this he had unsuccessful spells in France, Germany and Spain. He's 28 in a months time, he was highly rated at Ajax but his career has never kicked.

I'm hearing people saying they expect him to come here and tear it up and I'm getting accused of being the one talking nonsense because I'm balanced and dig into players and actually challenge narratives with stats. I don't see a guy who I have total confidence is going to tear it up for us. I'm very much on the fence on what he will bring. I think 6m would be a reasonable fee for him but it looks like we have to go double that on him and that's not his fault but the boards. Will we be using his fee as a stick to beat him with like Idah?

Dolberg is being brought in as a goalscorer. His link up play is meant to be decent but he's not really a powerful forward who will bully defenders. He's not a speed merchant, he's not a workhorse up front. He's there to score which is why I'm stunned that the people like you who tore Idah to shreds, right or wrong, don't want to put a number on what he has being brought into do.

You are a complete hypocrite is what I feel. You want to lower the bar for the players you hype up and you set the bar very high for the players you didn't rate thus making it impossible for you to every be wrong about anyone. It's why the likes of Scales can never win with this support. It's quite pathetic to see grown men behave in such embarrassingly petulant manners.

Disagree. I can remember Juranovics depending for both Shakthar goals in the CL and the one at Ibrox as well in the 2-2 game I think it was.

    Why the focus on stats?

Why not talk about Idah's actual performances for the past 12 months, which have largely been rotten?

Stats never tell the full story. Michael Higdon had 40 goals in 70 games for Motherwell in this country. Doesn't make him a better player than Idah or Dolberg even if he has a slightly worse record IF he signs.

You're never in a million years getting a 55 cap Danish international striker who's off the back of 24 goals in a nation far better than ours football wise, for £6m. We sold Bernabei, a LB, and a poor one at that, for £4.5m.

Here lads I honestly couldn't be bothered reading on a thread who the better defender is when all I want updates is about a striker. Take it to the relevant thread.

The board just need to bite the bullet for once in their lives.

You see other clubs doing it all the time. Just getting things wrapped up quickly even if it means spending a bit more than originally planned. Getting thier target before someone else does.

Everything we do is painfully slow. Back and forward with increased bids by a few hundred thousand just to miss out altogether.

Can you remember his performances in the World Cup? Where he was voted in team of the tournament? There’s a reason why one of them is playing for Croatia consistently and performing well in the Bundesliga and the other should be replaced in our team by an 18 year old Donovan.

Our insistence on getting the best possible value will be our downfall.

Board have a chance to slightly make up for the mess of this window here and in the following 48hrs.

This, also the discussions about resale value are irrelevant. His quality can add value to the club financially by helping us qualify for the CL next season etc.

How can someone speak so much, yet say absolutely nothing at the same time.

We sold Kyogo on for 10M when he was what 30? No reason why we can't do the same with Dolberg if he comes on and does the business on the park.
If the club think it can be done then get it done quick; if not, move on. The idea of having to recall Idah because we have no one else for OF game tomorrow would be a farce!
