Engels was like 19 when we signed him, Dolberg in about to turn 28. I can't see this board spending a record fee on a player who'll have little to no resale value.

 

Quality costs money though mate, if we're willing to pay that for potential then surely we have to start paying for proven quality. Not every signing we make should be done with a resale value in mind.

 

He was a far better defender than Ralston is mate. Different stratosphere stuff.
