Anyone who thinks that going away to Red Star, Bologna and Midttylland is easy is having a * giraffe.

That being said, it's definitely not harder than our Champions League draw for * sake.

This club is under a cloud right now, no geting away from that.. next few days is so important. A few decent signings (i know I know) and this group is very doable

What was the qaulifying points for the europa last year?

We should get 3 home wins and a couple points away. Should see us comfortably through.

Good to have a couple really hard games though. Prepares you for further on. No point playing pish, getting to last 16 then playing a half decent Kazakhstan team and going out :fear:

Jokes on you... there are no Kazakh teams in the Europa League.

I have every confidence in us to adjust our level to that of our opposition. It's not just the Kairat game - we never seem to show up for Europe. Even last season with a good squad and a very forgiving draw we just scraped through because we didn't show up to some of the easier games. It's just how we are.

It’s a pretty competitive list of fixtures in general.

Setting aside our current *-ness and hoping (foolishly, I’ll admit) that Tuesday was a serious wake-up call, there’s some games there that we’d probably expect to lose, some that’d be 50/50, and some where you’d think we’d be the fancied side.

If we (that being both the support, and the folks employed by the club as well) are genuinely at the point where we’re looking at that lineup of fixtures and thinking that we’re just going to get our arses handed to us by everyone, then quite frankly we shouldn’t be anywhere near any level of European competition.

On paper, the squad that got those great results in the CL isn’t that radically different (striking options being the major difference) from the one we have at the moment. If Tuesday’s embarrassment has spurred us in to action (which still wouldn’t make up for the negligence of recent months) and we go out and address the positions that need addressing, we should be capable of progressing.

Did they not get a stinking draw last year too, if memory serves?!
They scraped through to the playoffs on the last league match.

It could have been far far worse. Nowhere near as tough as it could have been avoiding Villa, Forest, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Porto, Betis.

I really wanted a Betis away trip. Their fans are brilliant, would of been a big Green and White party.

Similar to getting Villa away last year from Pot 4. A team to good for the pot. Not the easiest of draws
