Swansea City are on the verge of securing a move for Celtic striker Adam Idah.

The 24-year-old looks set to become City's 10th signing of the summer, and will sign for a significant fee, although it's understood to be below the £7million reported elsewhere.

A fee has now been agreed with the Scottish champions and Idah will head down to south Wales in the coming days to complete a medical ahead of a move. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

Swansea had been assessing other options in the market as recently as Thursday afternoon, but they have now decided to go all in on the forward, and the move has since progressed quickly. He could now be confirmed as a Swans player in the next few days.

The move is a significant breakthrough for the Swans, who have been chasing a striker for much of the transfer window, and have either missed out on or cooled interest in a number of targets.

The Republic of Ireland international has netted 29 goals in 76 games for Celtic, whom he joined in a £9million deal from Norwich City back in 2024.

His arrival comes on the back of what's been a rigorous search for a new number nine in the last few weeks.

City made attempts to sign Richard Kone and Oli McBurnie earlier in the window, but they ended up going to Queens Park Rangers and Hull City respectively.

He's expected to take a medical in the next couple of days?

    Whit?

It'll be today if the deal is progressing as has been reported. That means he would theoretically be available for the huns game. Nonsense.

I still like him. I am gutted for him.
His loan spell was excellent for us. Scoring big goals in big games and obviously mega pressure. A shame hes ending it in a bit of a rut.

    Can’t believe it’s actually happening.

Let’s just forget he was ever here.

He worked hard during his loan spell but then when he signed permanently he tried to coast it

Funny thing is imagine we never got him on a permanent, probably would of been a meltdown on here.

Can’t wait to see him playing for Hibs or Aberdeen in 6 years time.

If it caught us by surprise then you just reject it surely....

No as if we aren't in total control of a player with several years left on his contract.

And if Celtic feel the £7m offer is too good to reject that's an open admission from the club that the player is absolutely pish
