I love CCV..he's the best defender we've had for a long time.

My one criticism is that he passes the buck to Scales alot. Scales isn't great playing out from the back, but he tries, whereas CCV is more often happy to let him than take some of the burden. Not always, but too often

I think if we go 9 points on Sunday the board will sell his value is at the point where it will dramatically drop over next year can see it in his performances

This is the remit for any Celtic CB, especially domestically where we’re not gonna do a lot of defending against Dundee or St Mirren.

CCV and Scales are serviceable at it. Trusty’s a level below that, which is why he can barely get a game imo.

I haven’t watched him play yet, but I doubt Pussey was brought in primarily for his outstanding defensive abilities. Of course he’ll have to be able to defend, but a big part of it’ll be his pace and ball playing ability.

    He's still our best CB.

We’ve got 99 problems and CCV’s recent performances are number 97 or 98 on that list.

It's absolutely hilarious if fans here think CCV is an issue.

Convinced hes playing through injury. Just seems turgid and takes him an age to get moving like Kairat game where he mistimed the ball and bounces away from him it felt like it took him ages to get back into cover and eventually stop the ball coming into the box

He can still be our best defender whilst having an absolutely shocking game during the week. Both can be true, and they are. His mistakes definitely fly under the radar compared to Scales however. Remember folk trying to blame Schmeichel for his own goal against Brugge :giggle1:

Why did you say two years when it’s been two games?

This is what I mean about people making things up or using hypotheticals to back up an argument. It makes no sense. Ifs, buts and maybes are being presented as fact.

While the entire team is dross and underperforming, players like CCV get some well earned leeway.

McGregor is an example of that leeway running out now. People have been asking for him to be phased out for a while and at the time it was ridiculous, but it’s becoming more common and it’s becoming more justified.

That isn’t the case with CCV. We need to see a decline over a season before we can start talking about whether he needs to be replaced.

Personally, I think he’s playing hurt and has been for a long time. It’s kind of common knowledge, but I think it’s more substantial than we are being led to believe.

That’s a coaching decision though, Rodgers clearly wants Scales moving the ball forward with CCV being the better defender, left to defend.

Yeah and I'm saying you're an imbecile based on your inane contributions. Can we leave it at that? I happen to think you have nothing intelligent to contribute here

If you think I have nothing intelligent to contribute you should read the posts that say CCV gets things glossed over because he came from the EPL for money and Scales gets hammered because he was cheap and from the LOI.

It's based on merit which is I was I was able to provide specific examples substantiating the different standards applied to both players.

You just focus on inane contributions with nothing to support them. It's why I believe you are a complete imbecile and only serve to waste my time engaging with you.

Unless you have anything intelligent to contribute then stop wasting my time with the levels of idiocy you are currently debasing this thread with.

You were able to gather specific, limited examples.

    Bravo, you * thesaurus.
