Swansea City are in talks to sign Celtic striker Adam Idah.

It is understood the approach has come as a surprise to Celtic, who had no intentions of selling the Republic of Ireland international this summer.

Idah has also not been looking to leave the Scottish champions.

However, Sky Sports News understands Swansea are pushing hard to sign the 24-year-old and are prepared to pay a decent fee.

Celtic signed Idah permanently from Norwich in a deal worth £9.5m last summer, after a successful loan spell.

 

Hopefully he moves on.

 

I'd love to sell him. As much as I was saying there isn't much between him and Zurawski, that was Idah during his loan.

He's fallen off a cliff since Villa. Can't see it though

 

No doubt we have a replacement ready to take his place immediately.. we are really good a that..

 

No negotiations should need to be done, * give him to them for whatever they’re willing to pay and end it now. The issue will be we’ll have no forward plan in place so a replacement won’t be identified resulting in us scrambling around and eventually settling for some bit of deadwood elsewhere resolving nothing.

 

Even a loan would do, just get him away for the season.

As i said to @DonnyCelt we got shafted for idah 100% board are just as much to blame for the fee paid not agreeing a fee on the original loan deal then dragging out most of last summer until Kyogo popped his shoulder against hibs.

But in 2024 he scored big goals that fired us to title and direct entry to UCL and £40m, his 20 goals and goal involvement got us into the playoff of the UCL and further chance of £40m which our board * up and the guy isn't upto being a no1 striker at celtic

 

If we didnt expect it i can 100% stonewall guarantee you there will be no striker lined up as a succession plan but giving the board seem hellbent on reducing costs they will accept anything to get him gone. I just have a absolute * of a fear we go with Kenny, Yamada and Osmand as our strikers this season if idah and Daizen both go.

And by January Kenny will be our starting striker. Yamada will be loaned out. And fans will be fondly remembering Idahs goal to games ratio.

 

We can 100% afford to lose him.
