Absolutely no chance Nicholson or Lawwell is at the next home game.

At least not in the stands.

 

For sure no question about it. Sometimes getting points over online is not so easy. What I was trying to say was how I feel about the board and club ownership now is like how I felt about the Kellys and Grants back in the early 1990's in terms of wanting them gone. No question it is not even remotely comparable in the sense of the domestic dominance we have now while back then we weren't even finishing second.

 

Yes I remember that Cambuslang fairytale back in the day as well. A crock of lies that whole nonsense was. Hope your right about the rest of this season. But as you say the roots of our problems need to get addressed and until they get removed we will not grow and progress as a club.

 

The * deserve the full wrath of the fan base to highlight the lack of investment in this team is not acceptable after last nights total disaster, the club are definitely regressing on the playing field, key players not being replaced and expensive flops need moving on.

 

There needs to be no holding back now on these *!!!

 

I am 27 so haven’t known anything other than success for the most part but i don’t think I’ve ever been so down on us after this Summer. Derby on Sunday and couldn’t care less about it right now.

 

Pressure should be on Desmond, Lawwell and the rest are there because of him. * him.

 

There are still thousands of happy clappers within our support....

As per usual, this will all die down after the international break.

 

We are all in agreement here that the board need to be hunted.... But as a fan base what is the best course of action for us to take? Boycotting games isn't an option - I'd never do it myself because going to see Celtic is too much part of my identity as a person and is a big part of my wellbeing (yes I know.. ) Without doubt this is the case for a lot people..
Saying you're not going to buy merch is futile also unless tens of thousands of us do it in unison which won't happen...
The only thing I can think of is a protest outside Celtic Park but how great would numbers be for that??? It seems to me that we are stuck with these parasites and are powerless to get the * out...

 

This is a big part of what makes me so disillusioned right now. How do you get rid of Dermot Desmond and the board. There is no obvious avenue.

 

Grew up watching us in the 90s and it was frustrating in a different way. We were worse than them for a long time and genuinely struggled on and off the pitch. I think sometimes people are genuinely spoiled now with complaints when we’re playing well, and as a fanbase we tend to panic easily and exaggerate when we lose in the league.

The biggest frustration for me now vs then is that we have the capability to blow everyone else away in Scotland and become a bigger force in Europe. But we don’t, because we hamstring ourselves. We’re our own worst enemy and that’s because of incompetence, arrogance and a complete inability to run a club like a modern club should be run, with a continuity and development strategy supplemented by youth. We should have the pick of Scotland’s best and be able to develop them into top class players. We should have a back up strategy so that there’s someone instantly available to replace everyone that goes out. But we don’t, because our board are a shower of arrogant, useless *.

It’s a very different kind of frustration.

 

My suggestion: get nasty, insulting chants thought up, and belted out during home games. The more scandalous, the better.

For a starter, I propose something like: "Desmond, yer no a Dermot, yer a feckin' marmot!"

 

The thing is we weren't cash rich in the 90's Prof and had to make do with what we had however, we now have more than a healthy bank balance and can easily afford to buy some quality players to take this team forward but, as we all know, this board has fecked up yet again and that is why many of us are far more angrier than we were in the 90's - especially after last night's embarrassment

 

Dunno if that one will catch on mate but I appreciate the sentiment
