There are some teams yes that have employed a throw in coach and when you think about it throws in are easily the most common set piece in every single game any team plays. So its certainly something that should be paid attention to as being able to take them quickly and consistently maintain possession from them matters. At the very least we should have a set piece coach who covers all set pieces including throw ins as all set pieces are without a doubt an area where we can improve as a team.

I thought Taylor was taking the * with these but it seems we don't work on throw ins whatsoever.

The insistence on the fullback having to be the one to take throw in is infuriating. If they don't already have the ball, by the time they get it the chance to do anything meaningful has passed. Only for the fullback to take the throw in and for the ball to be immediately passed back to them from a player who the majority of the time is better on the ball than them!

Just please, please BR watch the difference of under Ange when the ball comes back into play as soon as possible.

It’s such a major difference for something so easy and minor. Doesn’t allow a wee mental break for the opposition, reset back into place, get comfortable.

Hilarious watching Ralston waiting about 8 minutes trying to take a throw in last night.

Our set-pieces in general are abysmal. Throw-ins, Corners, free-kicks(direct or indirect) and let's not forget penalties of course.

Our goal kicks are taken rapidly but our throw ins are as slow as our build up play.

For those who are in love.....
We've been seeing this all top often now..

Last week all of us visibly watched McGregor waltz away from the thrower and hide behind a Kairat player when we needed someone offering..

It happend plenty last night again..

Remember those days a long time ago under Ange when players would sprint for throw ins and teams couldn't cope........

Whilst we're on the subject of set-pieces....how many times do we get a FK, well into the opposition half, and then proceed to pass it back to our CBs, or even GK, so we can 'build from the back'. Bad enough at the best of times but when we're struggling to break a side down it's soul-destroying.

Our quick free kick yesterday in Kairats half that lead to us quickly conceding a corner was my personal favourite

Looked like Kairat was simply setting up a defender near our player who was taking the throw in, which prevented a first-touch back to the thrower. And that (somehow) had us completely flummoxed.

Our throw ins have been a disgrace for as long as I can remember, is it not basic coaching to ask players to be busy and move for the guy making the throw in?
