Spot on mate. The system and set up is what annoys me. When it worked was when GT would invert and support Calmac.

It’s either he makes everything work or it won’t. That’s our system just now. And it is criminal

Mcgregors biggest downfall is his own ability. Manager after manager has used him at 6 because he has a better passing ability and control in tight spaces than any player we have.

We genuinely have ruined mcgregors career as his best days have come as an 8 and 10. It should be him and Hatate with a solid holding player behind them.

won’t come down on him too much as he’s been shoe horned in for years and in Europe is constantly fighting a losing battle.

sign a * defensive player and play McGregor further forwards.

Every * is wrong and you are right.

He is clearly incapable of playing the role at a certain level. Domestically against Livi or Falkirk, he looks like Pirlo.

In games like last night or any of the last 5 derbies, he looks like Willo Flood. In fact Willo Flood had a lot more dig about him.

A natural 8 or 10 but 6’s cost too much money. No clue how he hits the first penalty against the sheep but doesn’t last night. Just Celtic things.

club need to come out and explain the order of penalty takers and who decided who would take what actually.

think Rodgers has the ability to take some heat off the players if it was his decision which order. Otherwise in what world would you allow Idah to take that first one

No, genuinely we're right.. its delusion to say otherwise.

Apart from one season which was a anomaly, he's been a major part of the most powderpuff midfield we've ever had for a sustained period.. this is with him being a constant in our European failures.

He is not suited to the number 6 role at that level.. that is not a suggestion he hasn't been a great servant, but a basic realisation that he's been shoehorned into a position

Rodgers himself didn't even seek a proper destroyer to be brought in. He wants wingers, strikers, a backup LB, but no concrete rumors have linked us to a defensive midfielder. McGregor is shoehorned into the position of a holding midfielder because we keep picking managers who neglect the defensive side of the game.

He's been diabolical over both games but the system is definitely the big problem and what/who we've got..

He’s been a fairly solid player no doubt but always found he was overrated. Especially in Europe he’s never really looked at that level.

He took our first one in the cup final when we beat the huns. And in the semi against Aberdeen. He scored both. Didn’t see anyone complaining then about him going first.

Said it before but not going for a proper big strong number 6 has been one of the most glaring holes we have in our team currently and it has been there for quite a while. McGregor does a good job there domestically most of the time but he is not a natural and true 6 and that gets exposed sometimes domestically but usually when we play in European games against teams with more size and or athleticism. This is getting compounded now I feel by the fact that McGregor while still a quality player is 32 now and given the huge game load he has had for so many years it looks like the years are taking their toll.
