Celtic In Europe 2025/26

We're sitting with roughly 100m in the bank and have so far spent 3m on the squad in the season we were really hoping to kick on its hard for it to get worse

 

Was thinking there after the result last night, the only thing left would be to go win the europa league… have we as a club got that ambition? Probably not

 

Imagine we won the quad now though...

We can't score against a * side from Kazakhstan in over 200 minutes of football. We have absolutely no chance of making an impact in the Europa League

 

I don't think we do. I don't think we have the ambition as a club. We probably should though. You need a good squad to win EL and win the league, we don't have the spine of one to build on to. Look at the last 3 times Scottish teams got to the EL/UEFA final, all three teams couldn't keep up in the league all season.

 

Well that * side is a champions league side so technically its a step down now yasss thank *. Those Kazakhstany goat farmers have been practicing to much for my liking anyway.

 

It will be 22 years by the time the group stage ends since we last won a knockout tie in Europe and folk have aspirations/expectations of making the later stages

 

Yes purely by the fact the quality of the competition has diminished since then. The spread of talent is lower due to the spread of money being concentrated in only a couple leagues in the world.

 

We are hours removed from being unable to score against Kairat Almaty in 210 mins of football. Some now want the manager sacked and the squad is * miles off where it should be and folk have us making the quarters at least

 

aye but we've 5 days of the window left. Don't panic

And if we do get through to the latter stages then will all the fans who have apparently finished with Celtic come crawling back? Of course be back by Sunday morning no doubt

Going to put money on us playing Go Ahead Eagles and Breum scoring the winner for them.

 

Personally I've never got the idea that we would automatically go deep in the EL like a lot of people seem to have.
Maybe if we built on last season's Euro performance and added some quality, but if we did that I'd be wanting us to be doing it in the CL.
Might change once last night is less raw or we sign a few but I'm not excited about the EL with our current squad.

Seen it and heard it so many times though always at its worst after a qualifier gone * up. It’s just the way football is.

 

So as things stand, what clubs are in the Europa league right now?

 

I mean 8 games. Thats 8 points at 0-0.. sometimes enough to qualify. Then we can 0-0 and get good at penalties and be the first team in history to win the cup 0-0 and zero goals scored.
