Why does Desmond allegedly have so much influence? Why do the club allow it?

    He’s not a majority shareholder.

Apparently for years when getting into the UCL isn't possible to avoid selling players....

he has enough support from other shareholders that essentially give him the power.

If they came out and said, we can't spend this on player costs due to rules but we can invest in capital projects than brings in revenue which can be used to pay for player costs I'd be supportive of that. Anything from an event space or a hotel. I actually think most people would be happy with that.

Btw it’s nothing to do with fee and more to do with the wage structure the amount of 28 -30 year olds we could have got on free that could enhance Celtic and we never do it because we don’t want to pay the wages even though theirs no fee involved

Peter Lawwall is the problem for me. We'll eventually spend enough money would have helped last night but he always drags it to the last week.

When he was gone we were buying players in November for the January transfer window.

I mean the humiliation should be a watershed moment for the club and all involved. But been here time and again so expect absolutely nothing.

Tbf the tv deal is way out of the picture inflation wise though that’s one of the reason in the 25 year gap on fees and take into account more players are on 15 - 20 k a week whilst then it was most players 5-10 k while the four top players were 25 -30 k

Sky offering 22 million back in 2013 was the same amount they originally offered back in 01 when knocked it back old firm wanted to accept the deal

Roger Mitchell came up with the idea of spl tv I think this was just to get sky to up their offer old firm kybosh spl tv Mitchell goes back to sky and sky have all his numbers infront of them basically a mole passed the info on (old firm)

They offer pittance compared to the first deal so spl chairmen go with the pittance at bbc and that’s why Scottish football has been held back from inflation wise in football terms

Our club along with the Huns really were the baddies because they were trying to breakaway …. Dermot Desmond prize hard on for epl

Shares in Man Utd before he was asked by a Celtic investor to make an investment tbh the tache cares more about his ego and his horses

We need a clear out, a total revamp of our structure with new personnel from boardroom to youth setup.

The only way that happens is with new ownership.

Indeed. The failure to qualify was down to an atmosphere of dejection and conflict for which the board are guiltiest. I was fine with the possibility of defeat, because I knew the fans could turn on the PLC.

Time to make the board members feel scared.

That’s forward thinking here’s a point and I’ve thought it for a while makes sense even Chelsea do it instead of having a major profit invest in players who will keep their value rather than paying large chunks on corporation tax

Snake oil salesmen. That’s who’s running our club. A bunch of greedy, tight fisted lying charlatans.

It's a whole group of them, who are happy to let him have his way and carry on his vision. If a * is allowed to behave like a * by other *, he'll be a *. He shouldn't be given that unchallenged freedom to act the *.

He should never have been brought in as Chairman, at the very least it was a poor image.

Harry Brady went off in one * of a rant during the CU podcast

on 23 minutes this was his best bit

If Dermot Desmond wants to phone me up, I’ll have a whip round and we will tell him to F**k Off. Because he is 100% responsible for the strategy of the club around not signing players, it is, absolutely, 100% his decision making to be some sort of Billy Big Balls, Donald Trump Lite, I do deals at the end of the window.

We are probably going to bring in three or four players, regardless of losing tonight we are still going to bring in three or four players because he is f***ing magic and licks his balls at night to show everybody how wonderful he is because he makes deals in the last minute of the transfer window.

Well that’s a f**king waste of time because we’re out and even if he signs the players we could f***ing bury them at the weekend.

Like most here now, if I saw any of the board of the board on fire and I had a tumbler of water, I'd probably glass them. Fuming is an understatement. Too little to late is the norm now. Forever looking back over our shoulder instead or reaching forward for new heights. We're not even stagnant... we're going backward!!! The season may well be a marathon rather than a sprint but why put lead weights round our ankles and tie our shoelaces together? Nicholson, Lawwell and Desmond, the harbingers of our own downfall. That is their legacy!!! GET THEM GONE :ranting2:
