Marcelo Saracchi traveled to Europe on Tuesday to join his new team, after Boca Juniors agreed to the terms of his departure in the last few hours.



According to Augusto César, the 27-year-old Uruguayan left-back will be a reinforcement for Celticof Scotland.

Boca Juniors loaned the player from the eastern region for one year, with a fee (approximately $100,000) and no purchase option. This gives the Xeneize a signing spot until this Sunday, August 31, and a foreign player spot has also been freed up.



Saracchi had been working separately since the end of July, after Miguel Ángel Russo separated him from the squad , and in the first days of August he had suggested to the club that he terminate his contract .

Celtic will be the seventh club in Saracchi's professional career, as he has a contract with Boca until December 2027 .

The Uruguayan, who trained and made his professional debut at Danubio , also played for River Plate , RB Leipzig , Galatasaray and Levante , the club from which he joined Boca in August 2023.

We also understand Marcelo Saracchi is due to touch down in Scotland in the coming days ahead of a season-long loan deal from Argentine giants Boca Juniors.
The former RB Leipzig full-back will arrive as deputy for Kieran Tierney.
The clubs have not agreed a future option at the time of writing, though it has been discussed.

 

This is such a pointless signing. Does anybody think he'd have came in and done a better job than Scales last night? He's coming so he will have the chance to prove me wrong but can't help but feel the guy is a complete and utter dud. I'd honestly rather go with Inamura or Frame. I doubt Rodgers rates him either but this is the * that's forced upon him.
