Do Maeda, Forrest, Idah, Kenny, Yamada, Nygren etc give you confidence of creating and scoring goals in a European tie.

 

They should be more than capable of scoring against kairat almaty

 

So who do we neen to get in to beat almaty? Guardiola? Klopp?

 

Im not making a coherent argument? One was a result within the first few games into a new managers tenure - the other is 3 years into a mangers tenure.

The argument is based on your point of using that loss against Ange whilst absolving Rodgers of his when he is further into his tenure as a Celtic manager when it occurred.

Rodgers also clearly stated he had final say on signings and now hes back tracking? Hardly someone who can be taken for his word is he?

Rodgers was abundantly clear he wanted to work with Idah after his loan.

The board are mostly to blame for the constant 3rd year recycling of pulling back from funding fresh players however Rodgers squad management also needs to be questioned because we was earlier in August talking about how we need to be quicker and yer here we are, just like his first stint as manager, watching the ball move between CBs without much purpose.

Hardly an effort to make strides in coaching the squad to move faster

 

Why should they?

They weren't capable of scoring against St Mirren on the opening day of the season. We don't have the attacking quality for this stage of European competition.

 

And I mentioned Ange's last 8 games - W0 D2 L6 which you continue to ignore.

Ange's record with us in Europe was appalling. You revisionism is not going to impact the reality of that as much as you try.

Maeda scored against dortmund last year and idah scored against aston villa. But its unreasonable to expect them to score against almaty?

 

No it cant. But it doesnt explain a midfield and defence that cant pass the ball 5 yards gorward without struggling to give it away.

We couldnt even take a half decent corner or throw in.

I wouldnt be defending anyone involved in that performance.

6 of which being in the champions league with a group consisting at the time of Real Madrid and RB Leipzig who were a decent outfit at the time 3 wins in Europa and then two losses against Bodo which were disappointing but we're against a club at the time and still are, hugely disrespected as an outfit in Europe.

When we lost to them it was off the back of them finishing second on 9 points in their group and beating Roma 6-1 who in turn get their revenge later beat them 5-2 on aggregate in knock out stage.

The point being, Rodgers has made claims they were wanting the team to be faster yet the style of play is as slow as it has ever been.

Rodgers transfer history for celtic and other teams is awful. As much as the board won't spend money i dont think Rodgers can attract the calibre of player that he wants.

At the end of last season ans and the start of this season the football we are playing is a snoozefest and not enjoyable to watch .

Then failing to beat rangers not just failing but got out played everytime. Instead of adapting his formations and tactics he just did the same thing over and over.

We can all see mcgregor shouldn't be starting big games, scales should be near the squad , idah shouldn't be coming on ....

In our most recent games luke Mccowan has been the player who created a lot of our attacks yet doesnt get on until extra time .

When he left the first time some of his line ups were baffling trying to prove a point to the board and it feels like its happening all over agajn

 

For every manager we've had you can say the same thing. The vast majority of Postecoglu signings didn't work out either!
