He’s done here. Clear for all to see. His confidence is on the floor and he’s a major reason we haven’t managed to qualify. His performance in the first leg was pathetic. His penalty was even more so.

Should never have been called on for that penalty... Possibly not even to come on in the match... Quite clear he's off his game and to have him go up first was stupid!

I mean abysmal on the ball. He has no skill whatsoever. I know he has scored goals in the past. But he's a complete donkey.

It was my main hang up when we were looking to sign him after his loan. He doesn't have any room for progression.

A player with some skill can be taught how to use the ball better and make themselves useful. A player who can score goals but can't control a ball can't improve on that. In fact they can only get worse.

I'm not even mad at him. He shouldn't have been signed in the first place. Those two goals against villa were a nice surprise though, shame we nearly really had a go in that game.

I can’t say much in protest there. My frustration is he’s shown flashes that he could be good on the ball.
Had a couple tonight even. His first touch when he came on wee backheel to Nygren holding the ball I was thinking yes, thank *. The ultimate example of it was 5-0 at Rugby Park to win the league.

I think he’s * now though. He was on the edge of pushing on or being a flop, and think that’s already happened now

I've not had many hopes for him to develop a great set of skills, as somehow points out above, but what I'd hoped to see was him look like he was really fighting to be a Celtic player. You see a guy like Ralston, who basically also has major shortcomings as a player, but he always seems to be pushing like * so you can forgive it.

I don't know if it's confidence or what, but I feel like sometimes he starts ready to play and then shrinks as the game goes on. Misses an opportunity, does the wee pretending to limp thing, and then disappears.

Regardless, his time is up. He's had more chance to make an impact than pretty much any striker at Celtic I can remember and I can't see another year making much of a difference. The player you see plus or minus his current confidence level is who we've got.

The thing there, last season him doing so was a massive public criticism of him. He kept running channels, running deep, running wherever but not within the width of the box or near the goal.

When he started a run of goals, he was doing the runs into channel when needed and not bothering being the guy in there when not needed. He overthinks like * when his heads down.

Now I think he’s trying to stay the width of the box instead. He will run very deep for a pass… but aye, if I have to say one thing about him, he overthinks.

When he doesn’t have the time to or when he’s flying and confident and doesn’t need to, he’s a good player.

But I think he’s never getting rid of that inconsistency in him, and 100% it’s confidence levels, and he’ll never have us backing him to keep the confidence up.

He has made an impact in his time here but. I’ll die on that hill.

£9.5m impact though? Nah. But he’s never going to be that level we would expect from him now

Was never good enough, and anyone that watches Ireland could’ve told Rodgers that……because clearly he didn’t * know it. No way should he have come on last night, crazy decision. His time here is done and I’d like to see him gone in this window tbh. He just won’t get any better.

If Hatate finished the chance he should have he perfectly laid on for him, it would be a much different opinion on him tonight. He still wasn’t good, if Hatate buried that or not, it was a moment in a game but it would change the view.

He can be much, much better than he is just now though. This is the worst he has been.

He has been better on occasion, for sure, but I just never believed that he was going to be as good as we wanted/needed him to be and, overall, he hasn’t been. He’s not the answer to our problems and I cannot see him improving tbh. Seems to have issues with confidence/belief, motivation and actual physical exertion. Never a natural finisher, IMO. Would love if he proved us all wrong but I genuinely cannot see it.

I think it was fine when Kyogo was ahead of him and he’s trying to bench him, and then Maeda afterwards.

Kyogo being a much higher quality of player, and Maeda when he replaced Kyogo was on a run that would never be matched, he scored pretty much every chance was more than a goal a game and Maeda’s workrate, is one of the highest in world football. CCV talking about Bayern having Maeda’s pressing and work rate highlighted and nothing else than that for us, and Kuhn’s goal was still down to Maeda’s press.

Idah doesn’t match any of that. But he was striving to replace them both. And nobody thought he could at all, and that’s when it’s clicked for him. Usually in batches of games. He’ll score 8 in 8, then a dry run for the next 8.

People forget this, but Moussa Dembele was very much the same. Adam Idah last season matched his best seasons CL tally, and outscored his second seasons goal tally. Idah had 20, 2nd year Dembele 16.

Not anywhere near as a player btw. But reminds me of it. Idah’s scored big winners, derby goals, cup final goal, been massive last two seasons.

But I don’t think we’ll see him hit they heights again now. Better as a challenger, and he is very much a confidence player, and the support will not change on him now. We won’t allow that confidence in him. We’ll slaughter him.

I think the tiny flame that was left in the Idah debate has now been extinguished.

He's pish, and he doesn't have the heart to play here either.

I remember Tore Andre Flo getting so much heat for being a failure at the sticky buns. 9 million on this *... it looks like Idah could play every game for the rest of the season and not score another goal.

Flo is a decent comparison to be fair. He was good for them. He scored 38 in 71 games, more than 1 in 2 that. Back then viewed as exceptional if that was done.

Dado Prso for them who was a hero? 37 in
    123.

Mind Mols? The world class hope they still say if not for injury etc? 48 in 128.

Flo is the failure but. Because £12m (and * me £12m was a lot back then) and they announced him as the best striker in Scotland. Like he’s the Henrik toppler, better.

And after that he’d be nothing but failure. £9.5m for Idah? That’s the way I see it, we would never allow anything but a failure. I’d be annoyed but fine with that still, if he wasn’t a player that needed to be a confidence player just as much as he does. If we backed him majorly I imagine we’d see much better from him. We won’t though

Was it lazy scouting that left us with no alternative ? Was it BR ?

Who knows why we paid what we paid for him but we could have got 2 or 3 strikers of a similar or probably better standard for that £9m. I would take Lawrence Shankland over him, the 2 hun strikers, Bowie at Hibs as well.

Worse than Miku, Lassad, Pukki, Stokes, Balde, Oh and all our other current strikers and yet he gets on and get to take the first PK.

Never, ever want to see him in the hoops again.
