Regardless of how * * the board are. Rodgers’ eye for a player has been grim for long enough. Liverpool, Leicester, and in both spells with us.

He was talking Idah up as if he was the second coming of Ronaldo before we signed him permanently. Sanctioned £11m on Engels. Sanctioned £6m on Trusty who can’t get a look in. Signed Bernardo who can’t get a kick.

Both parties are at fault. I place more blame on the board because they do this with every manager, though.

Remember just a few days ago folk thought Rodgers response to the sack the board chants was a bit weird "Usually it's the manager that gets sacked"

Makes a bit more sense now doesn't it ? He is their human shield

Today's game plan wasn't a game plan. It was embarrassing.

Ange would almost certainly have won tonight. With this squad and a few months prep so would half the SPL managers.

Regardless for me, we told him to get him back we wouldn’t do this *.

    We lied.

Next manager we try to get, what have we showed to back up our promises?

Again though Rodgers doesn't set the fees and the board leaving it so late last summer drives the fees up. They also played large parts in our success last season when we won a double and progressed in the CL sign me up for that again this summer ... Oh no wait we've still not replaced the striker we lost 7 months ago or the winger we lost at the start of the window. The 'sack the board' energy has predictably turned on the manager when he is/has been as frustrated as the rest of us and said as much

Honestly his insistence on forward passing and keeping the ball moving quickly would’ve been enough.

I genuinely think people are forgetting who we just played and are blind to just how badly Rodgers managed this tie.

Maeda, Yang, Forrest, Idah, Yamada, Kenny and Osmand being the attacking options available to him mean it definitely isn’t.

For as poor as they were going forward they were good defensively and incredibly well set up. Basically they were very comfortable in the knowledge that our attacking options are so * breaking them down was always going to be a struggle.

That on top of difficult playing conditions I’d be far more surprised if we went there and won comfortably. The damage was done last week in the 1st leg.

This is what irritates me more.

The board are literally getting away with this because fans are turning on the manaher. They’re * golden. All the shine taken off them now.

Rodgers was insisting on Idah. If he wanted a different striker we may well have signed one. And we should have done when it was apparent how much Norwich were demanding. The fact Rodgers was still insisting at that point is a problem.

The sack the board energy hasn’t turned. But Rodgers isn’t blameless in all of this.

Which goes back to my original point.

Khun left 2 months ago and it's been pretty obvious to everyone for the past month at least that we weren't going to do business until after this tie.

I agree with you 100% that the board have shafted him but imo Rodgers knew as well as we did, probably better in fact, that he wasn't getting any wingers in for this tie so he should have then looked at what he had and adjusted accordingly.

He had all of pre season and 3 out 4 home games domestically to try and find a system that worked and allowed Maeda/idah/shin/Kenny time to build some kind of partnership even if it was only as a plan B for the absolute nuclear option that we turned out to be incapable of breaking down a * team from Kazakhstan over 180 minutes playing his normal system.

There were enough signs last season that his formation and style was struggling against better organised teams even when we had better options so again imo I think someone earning £2m/year should be better analysising that and finding solutions rather than just continually throw sly digs at the incompetent auld * upstairs.

Sure, there's truth to that, but ...

Rodgers was repeatedly quoted through the summer talking him up and saying we wanted him to our striker.

He made him our number 1 signing and there wasn't anyone else in play for us or in for Idah. So absolutely added £4m to the price. It's was such a stupid move and has left us where we are. All eventually on Rodgers and for no obvious reason. Utter stupidity.

This is a very good point. Very good.

Balikwisha, was linked last summer and didn’t happen, it’s been quite a public transfer so we can trace how long this has been in the works.

And it started again before the season ended last season. Before the window opened. Balikwisha from what we’ve seen from his camp publicly was wanting to move here.

We were desperate to fill the position he plays. And it seems to be happening after we are knocked out via Playoff round.

That’s generally accepted as fact that timeline I think.

So… we wanted him, Rodgers wanted him, the player wanted us.

Why the length of time when it’s too late?

In my experience the board will get away just fine. They’re fine with the vitriol against them

    I mean on here.

All of a sudden a couple of posters are suggesting fans are letting the board away with it because we dare criticise Rodgers as well.

    Laughable.

    This.

I think people are forgetting that as bad as Yang and Forrest are, Rodgers had other options that he refused to take and instead chose to give Yang and Forrest * knows how many minutes.

I think people are overlooking how well organised they were because they literally offered nothing in an attacking sense. It’s possible to be very good defensively whilst being * going forward, especially in a 2 legged knockout tie when the team you are playing are equally as * in attack.

You could’ve swapped both teams attacking options and it would be much and such, it’s no coincidence the 2 games were 2 of the worst and most boring I’ve ever watched.

Had we had last seasons squad I’ve got no doubt we’d wipe the floor with them, but we don’t and that’s on the board.

Board need chased but to suggest that Rodgers gets zero % of the blame is utterly ludicrous.
It was Kairat Almaty. * *. Not one shot on target. Their defender was what 38? Everytime we went to knock it over the top of him he * himself. Why weren’t we doing that more often?
Once again after the Bayern tie. We have let sides get back into shape far too quickly while we * around with it at the back.
Players are shitebags and it’s not Rodgers fault that Maeda can’t finish but it’s not like we were peppering their goal. Board are the biggest targets for me but people are kidding themselves by saying Rodgers doesn’t deserve any critics tonight

Idah performed well on loan. What was he going to do? Talk him down. Sort of world are we living in here? You’re making no sense. How * stupid do you think the Norwich board are.

If Rodgers comes out and says he doesn’t want Idah or fails to praise Idah for his loan spell, do you think that changes anything at all? We delayed because we didn’t want to pay the price. We ended up paying their price when Kyogo went down holding his shoulder. Norwich seen it, we seen it, the world seen it.

Again, he had a target. We wanted him. He performed well on loan. Had we not signed him, everyone would have been screaming that we didn’t because the price was £8m. It’s like he can’t win with some folk on here.
