He is still one of our top players. His energy and effort is what we need. He will come good again for us

How? He's missed chances like that for his whole time here.

He still ran a lot and tracked back loads when moved to left wing

The issue is the reliance on him essentially being the only attacker in the squad who’s fit, being anywhere near the required standard. He alongside other quality attackers, be that wingers with him as a 9 or another winger and a striker is fine.

We should never be in a position where he’s the only remotely decent attacking option because he’s shown throughout his Celtic career that we won’t be able to rely on him being clinical in big moments bar a brilliant purple patch last season. Can add tonight and last weeks misses to one in the cup final last season and another at ibrox all of which have come in the dying minutes and have been the difference between drawing and winning a game.

I wouldn’t be chasing him out the door but any forward thinking club would be taking an offer for him whilst he still has some value with the view to replacing him, issue is we’ll take the money and replace him with some diddy nowhere near the standard required. The Celtic way.

Said it already but a serious club would be shifting him this summer for anything approaching the £25m mark if any club offers that (which I doubt).

When it comes down to pure footballing ability, he’s laughably bad quite often. First touch, dribbling, finishing…just * rotten.

He had an unbelievable purple patch last season that he’ll never replicate.

Nah, his form had fell off a cliff but he doesn't strike me as that sort of player.

Oh don't get me wrong, I was slagging him for those misses as well. But for daizen to be effective, he needs technical players alongside him. He's not anywhere near the same threat without that.

He was poor and deserves criticism like others.

But, we knew Jota was * last season, Kuhn was away, and never replaced Kyogo. That's a potential starting front 3 tonight.

The board have * us and themselves over with their actions. We'd probably replace Daizen with some £1.5m project.

A bunch of huns couldn't sabotage us more.

He's not had the same intensity or effort in general this season, can see it a mile off but the whole squads been like this too mind you.

Anyone could see he had a flash in the pan season in terms of goals, was never ever going to be replicated.

Last summer before the purple patch I said on here we can’t replace him. Last season, and the purple… season? Not a patch. Full season, maybe a purple patch within a purple patch after Kyogo left if what he was like before that is not a level you think is a base level for him.

Goals/Assists this season I’d be happy as * if he got 20 goals. I’ll be happy as * if g/a added together he’s in the 20’s tbh. Last season isn’t his bar for me end product. Before he done that I thought how the * is he replacable.

He had the prolonged flash, a full season one.

One he also done the year before we signed him at Yokohama.

I think him up to Kyogo left is what we should expect return wise from him.

I think the flash was when he replaced Kyogo.

I mean he probably won't reach the numbers of last season, but he has the same number of goal contributions so far as he had this time last season.

To write his season off already is madness. Poor tonight but he'll be a healthy contributor over the season, no doubt.

I absolutely will not expect anything like it. I’ll say at least 20 goals from him this season I’ll be buzzing. He was on the way to that, Kyogo left, then he had an unsustainable level of finishing.

Everycunt needs to be level headed with him here. He missed two golden opportunities and the penalty to lose the shootout and people are angry at the moment.

But you’re spot on here. I * wish he buried the chances he got, no doubt, but there’s some harsh opinions getting thrown around.

I’ve seen people saying he’s not trying anymore. Go watch his workrate stjll anyone who genuinely says that. Because it’s us getting too used to how hard he grafts now, he’s still doing that at the minimum

We were never, ever getting close to £25m for him. We'd only be getting that sort of fee if he was a few years younger. There's a steep drop off in average transfer fee after a player reaches 25 years old.

Anyway, I want to see him stay but that's about 4 or 5 one v ones he's missed and that's a disgrace. He's been in poor form this season and needs to buck his ideas up pronto.

Was anyone genuinely surprised he missed the one on one last night cos I wasn’t. We know what he’s good at and what he’s not good at. Any criticism should be balanced against that.

With his physical attributes he would assist a barrel load of goals at the highest level of football with the right players around him. You bring the units of a team together. He’s basically being hung out to dry. People throwing the baby out with the bath water here. Are we really going to listen to a lot of pie munchers calling Daizen lazy.

Not only a steep drop off, but players who fully rely on pure speed and zero technical ability are about 2 years from being useless. If we hadn't sold every * up top then id have been fine if we sold him. We sold the entire attack thats scored the most goals in a season in decades. * board again.

He missed a sitter at the end of both games that any sort of striker worth their salt should be putting away..

In terms of the actual games, he's a monumental reason we're sitting out today. His penalty just stuck a big fat * on the cake..
