True, I do remember complaining about exactly what you point out.

Still his 2 seasons in charge stand out to me as the most exciting, different and Celtic minded football I've seen us play in 40+years of watching our club.

So I'd say the answer to your first question is 100% yes.

The state of the squad is completely unacceptable and tonight's result is firmly on the board.

But I've no idea how anyone with any managerial nous at all could have started Forrest tonight. Yang I can forgive because he did look a wee bit lively in his cameo in the first leg, but Forrest has struggled to offer anything to the team at all this season.

I would genuinely rather have started with 10 men. Forrest was nothing but detrimental to our play against Almaty.

How would our elite manager have managed with this sort of backing?

Why should a manager adjust his style when it’s tried and tested and ridiculously successful.

His formation and style of play requires wingers. How’s about the board do their job and sanction some deals for some?

Going in circles again with you. Seems to be a common theme eh?

WE DONT HAVE ANY * WINGERS. That's why he needs to adjust

I seem to remember our form going to * after January that second season. Come the end we were really struggling.

I edited the post after you replied but for me up until January last year the football was better than anything we seen under Ange, along with success in Europe. We then signed Jota and there was a proper buzz about the place despite Kyogo going.

Fast forward to now, Kyogo who was sold in that window still hasn’t been replaced, Kuhn has been sold for £20m months ago, and Jota was injured long term about 10 games in and not been replaced.

    That’s not on the manager.

Possibly not having wingers would be something to consider?

A manager's job is to manage the team he has.

Be like Russell Martin blamimg the fact he didnt have Zinedine Zidane cause they got beat aff Motherwell.

It’s literally his job to adjust his style / tactics to the game and opposition.

Especially when the tried and trusted style isn’t working or doesn’t have the players to be effective.

The board are shitebags, but leaving an injured Raltson on, not having Inamura in the champions league squad due to pettiness knowing KT cant finish a match. Leaving Cal and Reo on despite both being invisible. The less said about spending 9 million on Idah the better, all though the board at fault too. Tactically we are far too passive on the ball and love going backwards to invite the press, instead we invite too much pressure on our back 4.

Rodgers has a lot to blame for these 2 dismal performances - even in our other games at home to St Mirren - Falkirk - Livi we have been too slow and ponderous. The style of football is awful to watch at times. Players are afraid to play the risky pass. Being coached to play like robots

Why bring a manager in and then not give him the tools to play the system we already * know he wants to play? It shouldn’t be a battle of wits between board and manager, but the board have made it so.

Would you not say he did that last season? When he had a squad who actually had the ability to compete at a decent level. We got absolutely scudded off BVB for which he was roundly slated, and after that adapted accordingly, to the point we went toe to toe with Bayern and pushed them all the way.

What’s happened since then? The forward line has been dismantled through being sold off or injured and replaced with * from within which were struggling to even make squads last season.

We actually did change in the match and went to 3 at the back. Unfortunately, we have got absolutely nothing in the attacking end of the pitch, which we have knew all summer by the way.
