If he’s stretched for fitness give the youngster a chance. He’s not shown any reason to not trust him friendlies or cameos we’ve seen so far.

I * love Ralston, the general opinion of him usually changes the longer he is in the first team. I would have no qualms him at Ibrox. I don’t think any time he’s played against them he’s let us down,

But he’s not trained. He was * during the game and played an extra 40 minutes or so after he was. And Donovan when he replaced him was such a positive.

Ralston will say yes if asked to play through injury, no doubt at all there. He shouldn’t be asked

 

Wasn’t he pretty bang average at Dundee Utd and St Johnstone before being thrown into our first-team out of nowhere in 2021?

Ralston has never and will never be anywhere near good enough for Celtic.

 

What do you think about when he was thrown in Ange’s first season?

 

He had a run of decent form for a few months then reverted to type.

We literally cannot be settling our standards on guys like Ralston.

3 months of Ralston and Donovan until AJ comes back is more than acceptable for me.


Him missing training but by all accounts being available for Sunday I really don’t like. Ralston fit I’m happy to. Unfit, asking to play despite that, he’ll say yes. And it’s not going to help opinions like yours on him at all that. And it’s poor management if we do.

Especially because Donovan looks like we can trust him.

Ralston though? Tend to trust him against the Huns more than AJ. AJ’s * a good few against them.

I’m sure Ralston gets told by plenty how good he is. Despite it not being particularly true. If an opinion like mine doesn’t help then he’s a lot weaker mentally than we would like.

Funnily enough, I don’t think he is mentally weak. I think he has to have some strength of character to be in the position he’s in and have made the number of appearances for us that he has.

But the fact stands he should be nowhere near the Celtic first-team in 2025. It’s criminal from the board that he’s still featuring regularly for us

 

I’m a big fan mate. And everytime he gets a run people usually remember what he can do.

He’s perfect for 2nd choice for me. I just * wish whoever told him try to parry a player down the wing positionally tells him * that, let him just go through ball, man, stand, dug out etc.

He didn't train on Friday, and Rodgers said he would see if he could today.

 

He’s far from *. Sometimes I think some of our fans need to go and have a look at themselves the way they talk about our players, especially the ones that play for the badge.
He’s been to Ibrox and put in solid performances in the past, one noteworthy when we were injury ravaged. Be nice if our fans could show him a bit of backing, especially when he is probably our best option with AJ being out

 

Watched their game last week and Gassama wasn't happy with a few rough tackles from St Mirren early on and looked disinterested after that.

He's absolutely abysmal on the ball , absolutely no ability to pass it forward .

 

Please just put an end to this. Technically he is absolutely woeful. Body is always closed when taking the ball meaning there’s always going to be a man closing him down resulting in his only option being back to Schmeichel or to the centre half next to him.

His attitude can’t be questioned but I’m afraid that’s not enough, he’s miles off the level required even as back up because we’re now looking at him being our first choice right back for an extended period of time.

 

Gassama playing on the opposite side helped.

Did ok but offers nothing going forward compared to AJ
