That's a false reading though. We have sold MOR, Jota and Kuhn for close to a combined 70m in the past 2 years. The biggest sale we had in Ange's time was £15m for Edouard. We have over to 100m in player sales during Rodgers time here and we haven't even reinvested all of it and that's all outside of CL prize money.

 

Totally agree. I have the fear Rodgers might start Idah tonight though which I'm not very happy about.

 

Yamada should have done enough at the weekend to get the nod. I'd keep Forrest and Yang on the bench as I think they are better impact players and if we're 1 down or 0-0 with 30 mins to go we need those game changers to come in and offer us something different.

That would be my front three. I don't think Idah will start personally but if Rodgers does start him and it backfires then he has big questions to answer.

Clubs have other costs apart from transfer fees though. Such as salaries, which I mentioned with the increased contracts we've offered. Transfer fees are a fraction of our costs as a business.

I do think the club could spend more, although I'm more concerned about lack of transfers until now rather than how much we spend.

I know what you mean. It does feel a bit mad to leave him out, but just think he'd be most effective as a super sub this game.

And Jamesey did force a very good save that their keeper just managed to tip onto the post in the first leg.

 

I would be happy with that. Thought Shin showed some really good movement on Saturday and Maeda is definitely a better option on the left than Yang. As you say Yang generally is better of the bench anyway and a good impact sub especially against a tiring full back.

 

I just think we run the risk of the game getting away from us at that point. If they score first its going to be a real uphill task. So I'd rather start Nygren and push for the first goal as I think we'll win the game if we can get ourselves ahead.

 

We have turned over an operating profit in our last three seasons, outside of player trading where we have earned another wedge of profit. We have vast amount of cash reserves going not being put to use with no plan to put it to use.

Clearly the more money we have to spend on player the better quality of player we can attract, there is a clear correlation there.

Need to hit a lot more shots tonight, last week, even the weekend at HT we had barely tested the opposition keeper.

When we are dominating teams and pinning them back, especially poor teams and not creating anything we need to just start leathering shots from everywhere.

Wee teams panic when their goal is being peppered and their keepers and defenders can get rattled when under heavy pressure. You can fluke goals, get defelections, keeper make poor saves leaving tap ins and just scramble them a bit to get more openings.

When we are juse passing it around and back and putting balls in to head out they are comfortable.

Rodgers should be telling the players not to * about, Forrest, Yang, Engels, Hatate, Nygren and whoever just get the ball smashed at goal every sight of it we get.
