I was listening to 20 minute tims and they were saying that strikers that come to us with an average scoring don't improve here.

You have to get a decent striker with a decent record.

I never really thought about it tbf.

Loads of teams can get strikers in that improve into consistent goalscoring machines.

Celtic are not one of those clubs.

Edouard had scored 1 goal in 17 games for Toulouse.

 

Moussa Dembele had a poorer goals per game than this guy does also.

 

Boosted the numbers to two players in 25 years.

Henrik’s record was poor also before we signed him. I get the impression these guys who come away with this haven’t really thought it through.

 

They're quite similar.

Also, both have played in the second division of England in Dembele's case or France in Soumano's.

English Championship is a higher standard than the French's.

 

Was the argument not simply that poor scoring forwards don’t improve when here? As I said, I don’t think the guys have really looked into it much.

 

So arguably our two best strikers since Larsson (Dembele and Edouard) both had worse or similar records to this guy.

 

Tbh I don't think either this guy or Dembele had poor goalscoring records. Both players had nearly a goal every two games before coming here.

Tbh I agreed with Shelby though. We need to go out and get the best striker our money can afford. I don't think it's this guy, based on gut alone.

We have a 10% record at best of turning a poor goalscorer into a good goalscorer in 25 years.

No chance we're getting two strikers when we need 5 players in total.

Sign two out of Vardy, Munteanu, and this guy, let Yamada have time to adapt without pressure - then sell/loan Idah and loan out Kenny, and I’d be delighted.
