Tbh I dont think we need hom at all. He's roght sided centre back which we have 2 of and Murray has shown he can do a job.
Unless hes to challenge scales (think trusty will be off) then I dont see the point now

No. No, he's just not in the squad. He's come in as a talent. Really the first part of the season was to get him through until the international break, used to how we'd be working because he's coming from training with a group of players, he's played no minutes at all over the pre-season, so he's not ready. But we're keeping an eye on him and hopefully after the international break, he can make some sort of impact, but that would be up to him. But he's a talent.

 

Must not be that great if he can’t get any minutes just now no matter his lack of game time. Just looks an odd loan if that’s the case, much rather Murray get the game time.

 

Seems like Rodgers could have an issue with his attitude. The loan doesn't make sense, should send him back.

The rumour seems to go with the comments made but could be way off.

Regardless, I don't see the point of a season long loan for a guy that isn't ready yet when it's hardly an area we're short in as things stand.

Given how well Dane Murray had done in preseason and Rodgers comments on him previously I didn't see the point in signing him at all and feel even more so now.

Murray is a fantastic young player and more importantly is ours. If we are gonna develop a young CB this season id rather it was one of our own instead of a man city one.

Id happily send him back

You can't really blame him. He'd be better off playing for the Man City youths than playing against lowland league part timers.

This also sends out a horrendous message to all our youths. Bringing in a 19 year old from another academy shows so little trust in our own academy players. Obviously it would be different if the guy was ready to play in the first team, but he clearly isn't. Did we sign him simply because he is from Man City, and not bother to see if he is going to actually improve our squad?

 

Don't think it was a long term thing. Think it was simply to get him fit given he's not played all preseason.

If he's refused to play to help get himself fit then I'd suggest theirs a problem with his attitude.

Again this is basd on a rumour so may not be true but given Rodgers comments on jisbgitbess it's strange that we didn't use that game to get him some game time also think their something in Rodgers ”that will be up to him" comment yesterday

 

It's just a strange signing all round. If we knew he hadn't had a pre-season, then we knew we weren't getting a player ready for the first team. What is the point of getting a player in on loan if it isn't to immediately supplement the first team?

You're probably right. "That will be up to him" is quite telling. Dane Murray has stepped up well, so we really don't need an unfit 19 year old from someone else's academy. Hopefully I eat my own words and we end up with the next Jason Denayer.

 

Your saying that, but CCV toe comes back, trustys heel will be months.. then we're 1 injury away from playing shin as a cb.

Its a cheap way to help city give the guy a bit of travel, us a bit of cover and you never know during the busy December period what will happen.

 

Seems so pointless , why get someone on loan when you have your own up and coming player like Murray ....
