Scaleswas ok last night. Defended well. Made a couple of good blocks. His passing at times os dreadful. I'm not talking the bombscare passes, but the easy ten yard passes that are played behind who he's passing it too. Hate that.

He's much better than Trusty and CCV at progressing the ball. Welsh and even probably Murray are better than CCV at this too. But CCV is miles ahead of them in every other department.

Our bigger problem is that progressing the ball out of defence relies on midfield being available too. Scales isn't solving that. No one but midfield and Rodgers is.

This is basically what I’ve been saying. Him being the best CB at progressing the ball doesn’t mean he’s good at it.

Don’t know why the comparison has been made between Scales and CCV as they have totally different roles, most teams have a ball playing CB and a proper defender. Just because Scales is better at it than CCV doesn’t mean he’s the man for the job. We need someone better, who can also defend.

Didn't let us down when he had the armband. Even put a decent cross in.

Thought he was brilliant today. I'm a big critic but not today. Helped Murray as well by being composed and assured

Done really well, can’t knock him at all. Showed he can be a leader as well.

    Fair plays to him.

Think making him captain was a smart move by Rodgers - the extra responsibility seemed to give him a lift. I know it was only Livi, but he played with confidence, and he doesn’t always.

Personally think scales is a brilliant defender. No saying he's been the best with the ball at his feet, but at doing actual defending? Hes top notch imo. Just need to make sure the midfield make themselves available so he doesn't get lost down a blind alleyway.
