Maybe that’s why Rodgers wanted to keep tilio around for so long before we signed his replacement. In absolute awe of his quality in training

Quoted at the top of p.24 mate. Says it was very easy to leave him out of the CL squad, downplay his defensive ability by claiming he couldn't put him up against Lamine Yamal, and that just because he played well against Cork and Queens Park (who he didn't face) doesn't mean he can play in Europe for Celtic.

No mention of the fact that two of the sides he faced in pre-season, Sporting and Newcastle, are in the CL. Funny too that he's seemingly happy enough to go with Donovan as backup right back.

Just stinks of him ripping a boy to shreds unfairly to prove a point. Really poor for me.

Agree with Paddy above. Fair enough if Rodgers doesn't think Inamura is ready defensively to play for us, that's his call to make.

But to exaggerate the point by citing 'Yamal Laminey' and actually crediting him for a match he wasn't even involved in.....* me that is excruciating. Prime Rodgers.

If we're fairly flush with left backs then fine, send the guy out on loan or whatever. But don't praise him then immediately blackball him as soon as the season starts. It's a * disgrace really.

"He came in as a centre-half/left-back, but his defensive qualities aren't at the level that would see me put him in against Lamine Yamal if I had to"

Think for tactical reasons Brendan wants a GT replacement that's very good at playing as an inverted LB. And it looks like he's refusing to play Inamuara until he gets one.

Weirdly though, I think that is a position where Inamura could really excel.

You can't blame him if he is, it's time for Lawwell to open the biscuit tin.

Nazinho would be the perfect understudy to Tierney.

Well there it is from the horse's mouth. He's not good enough, so we can forget about him for now (and probably forever).

Most annoying way possible to say it as well, wouldn’t trust him against Lamine Yamil. So won’t play against Livi and that at Parkhead.

Tbf theirs a big issue with what he’s doing

Like someone said his statement over the top … he played ralston against neymar and he’s come out and said he’ll use Donovan as back up to ralston at right back I think if she’s had no hand in signing he’s got no interest in using regardless of ability

Just because the manager says he’s * doesn’t mean he is btw we all have eyes manager prefers to use nygren over Engels and we all know that’s horse * aswell

Played wrong team first half against Almaty aswell
Manager making a lot of issues right now

Feel like his first season back football was dire and didn’t pick up until third part of season

Don't want to deflect pressure from the board, but it does seem strange that under BR we sign loads of "Jekyll and Hyde" players who are fine during -limited- game time, but * in training ?

He did the same with nawrocki he does it with trusty

Be breath of fresh air with new manager next season and hopefully Peter lawell finally retiring
And hopefully dd letting his son take control of his shares of all three things clicked into place it would help Celtic out a lot

Shved, Lagerbielke, Tilio ?, Frame plus several other kids that have come in looked ok and then banished back to the B side.

I think he sometimes gives player time on the pitch to show the board how * they are.
But then they do things like scoring a decisive late goal in a CL game, and he thinks "oh * I'll need to say they're * in training.

I’d be surprised if he’s near the squad, Rodgers always has those couple of players he’ll either not give a chance or play when they shouldn’t.

Like Nawrocki we’ll probably only see Inamura if there’s a lot of injuries, he’ll impress then we wont see him again. Meanwhile stuck with watching Scales at left back.

Nawrocki isn’t been able to get fit for Heerenveen either. Think there’s issues with him.

You can probably guarentee if we see Inamura, Rodgers will throw him on at centre-back against the huns or in a European game or away to Hibs at 1-0 down or something.

Probably try and throw him under the bus. Thats what I think he tried to do to Lagerbielke mind when he put him on against Feyenoord and he ended up scoring the winner then didnt even make the bench the next games :56: Rodgers * collapsed at putting that big numpty Phillips on in that game probably being 1-1 and the game in the balance thinking we were going to get beat and if it was Lagerbielke who came on he'd make a snide comment about him.
