Go Ahead still have to fear: Celtic are not considering the arrival of a key player



Celtic haven't yet dismissed the prospect of signing Go Ahead Eagles star Jakob Breum, sources told VoetbalPrimeur . The clubs held talks on Thursday about a possible transfer for the 21-year-old Dane.



Celtic's interest in Breum isn't new. However, the Scots haven't yet reached an agreement with Go Ahead on a transfer: the Eagles had an asking price of between €6 and €7.5 million. Celtic had already submitted two offers to De Adelaarshorst, one for €1.7 million and one for just under €3 million, but they were dismissed with a laugh. Nevertheless, a transfer is still on the cards.



The clubs are still in contact about Breum, according to VP. Discussions were held on Thursday. However, Celtic has not yet made a third offer. The Scottish champions are also busy with other incoming transfers. Calvin Stengs' name recently came up at Celtic Park.


Whether Go Ahead will ultimately lose Breum to Celtic will become clear in the coming days. The Scottish transfer window closes on August 30th, two days earlier than the Dutch one. So, should Celtic still manage to * Breum, Go Ahead will still have some time to secure a replacement

Different guys in the press obviously have different sources within the club


One is told something the other one is told a totally different story from the other source

 

See regardless of who we sign now it’s too late. If we sneak through next week, great but it’s despite all this nonsense.

Last night proved how ridiculous this strategy is they are a very ordinary side the teams that they out all got beat tonight two of them at home and the other thumped 4-0.

We should never be behaving how we are with what is on the line. The team we had at the start of last season puts 4 or 5 past that team last night.

I think someone in that boardroom is having too much of a say on who comes through the door for us. I'm pretty convinced Inamura and Yamada were not Rodgers signings. Our recruitment under ange compared to Rodgers is chalk and cheese and that includes how quick deals got done. We need 6 players in minimum

1 left winger
Striker
Left back
Right back (Depending on Johnstons injury)
And ideally a DM and a CB with scales being punted.

The only good spell under Ange was the first window (eventually) and the 3 guys signing before the January window opened .

A time when sol McKay was in charge and Ange had free reign to dictate the policy.

No surprise once McKay was out the door things started to slow and when PL finally returned, well, here we are.

It's not just the 2 Japanese boys.

We have signed 1 first team player out of 6 the entire window and even then he was a bargain bcoz he was out of contract in December.

Not counting KT bcoz he was done in January.
