"One of the top scorers in a European football competition" is a helluva way to describe goals against the teams above. Against which 4 of his 5 goals came against. In other words - against diddy opposition. His most impressive came against Rapid Vienna - a tap in at the back post which he couldn't miss. Granted it was good movement to get into that position.

The criteria isn't different. You're talking about a player that's actually had 270 minutes of competitive football for us. So over 4x what Yamada has had.

 

Yeah. I get that. I could list you some of the teams Yamada has scored against (or not given that he is now over 20 games without a goal).

What I am getting from you is that if Yamada only scores a max of 1 goal in his next 170 minutes of football we can write him off? Yes as that is the same criteria a lot have written Kenny off - who I will remind you is actually 3 years younger than Yamada.

 

Not if his all-round play shows real promise. If he shows he can cause defenders problems and get into good areas proving himself as a goal threat - then yeah. He'll prove he has even more to offer us over a longer period.

I don't see that from Kenny so far. So no I don't think he'll cut it and I'm still reserving judgement on Yamada until I see a bit more of him. And who knows? I could be wrong about Kenny long-term. I hope I am.

This is what I find so bizarre, you are crying out for Yamada to be given more time but think it's fair to write off Kenny on 229 minutes. Yamada has looked very odrinary so far, he doesn't seem to have the pace people claimed he did and he doesn't seem to have a good touch or intelligent movement either.

Still early days so he might prove that yet I just can't fathom out your double standards. If Yamada deserves time then so does Kenny, in fact as Kenny is 3 years younger then surely he deserves more time? No?

 

It's far, far too early to judge him based on a few sub appearances.

Our form is pretty poor just now and he's only getting 10/15 minutes here and there.

Hopefully he starts against Livingston.

The guy looks poor from what we've seen so far.

The only thing worse than not taking your chances is the game completely passing you by which is what appears to be happening here unfortunately

Needs to start at least 3 games in a row to even begin to a picture of if he’s good enough

 

I liked that when he burst the keepers head, when walking away towards the ref reminded him of the time

Trying to knock it on and peel round the defender was at least an attempt at a positive move when he burst their keeper, he should start at the weekend and get at least an hour so we can get a better look at him and see if he can get on the end of something.

 

I'd have him ahead of Idah every day of the week.

 

Just because of that, he should be no1.

 

At.least give him a chance to start a game ffs then we can maybe see what he can do

I wanted 6 to be fair, not good enough

 

When signed….he was supposed to be quicker than Daizen.
Haven’t seen it so far….but he deserves a chance.
