Our style has tweaked since Tierney has come back. We no longer invert any of the fullbacks and it's making us predictable. How many times have we seen the ball going out wide to Tierney or Maeda and them just standing looking at each other before passing the ball back.

You can't tell me Tierney can't do the same role as Taylor. He has just as good control of the ball and ability to pass.

Football has been boring a predictable

Disappointing result. Really can't see us getting a win over there. I think we will be playing Europa League. The board only have themself to blame. Shameful position they have put us in.

Still think the tie is in the balance, we've lost AJ and they have lost their two best players, if GK doesn't make it..

We need to try a different shape tho.

    The tie definitely isn't over.

I'm * off bit we didn't lose and despite how dogged they were, I don't think there much quality there.

Sadly, I think they're quite a slow team and if we'd actually prepared for this we really could have taken advantage with 2 or 3 new pacey attackers. They have a 38 year old at CB and most of their players are 28+.

Satpaev did everything good for them against Slovan at home including scoring. So him being missing genuinely could be the difference. I think he's that important to them.

Regardless. Still pish. But I'm no having it that we can't go there and get through.

I don't think Tierney can play that role tbh. It's not his game.

I also don't think he's as good on the ball as you're suggesting. Taylor started out as a CM in his career and despite what many think of him, it showed when he went into that inverted role.

Even when Tierney was here the first time I felt he could look a bit awkward and rigid on the ball at times and it hasn't changed. His game is very much about power and speed to burst away down the left.

Really wish we'd change the system for the away leg. We don't have any wingers, yet we're packed with centre mids.

A 4-3-1-2 or 3-5-2 allows us to get more midfielders on without having to play Yang or Forrest. Tierney is more than able to cover the left flank, and Johnston could the right (Hopefully Ralston can)

Folk giving up on this tie need their heads checked ffs. Such spoilt brats.

Wouldn’t be easy that’s for sure but we are still well in it. We can’t be any worse than yesterday for a start and they should open up a little bit more at home.

    I’m feeling the same.

Tie is definitely not over and I would even still consider ourselves favourites.
The only real worry is the travel and how that will affect us. If it was Slovan for example I would expect us to go over and win.

Also agree that them missing Satpaev who is clearly their best player and also possibly their first choice goalkeeper could be massive.

Having seen their stadium I actually fancy it more over there than slovan. There's a running track round it and the atmosphere wasn't that intimidating. Big pitch, too.

It's the travel/heat that is the concern for sure.

I agree, might be an unpopular opinion but so far I think Tierney has made us worse. Very predictable, always crossing into the box even though we are very weak aerially in spite having a tall 6ft 3 striker. He also has made Maeda worse as it seems they contradict one another as they both like to go down the outside.
Keep in mind Taylor started off as a central midfielder so he has the attributes to play inside. Tierney is a left back who can play left of a three or on the wing. I think he would need a bit more coaching to be able to do the inverted role

Nah am fuming absolutely livid. But a few on here warned everyone about this and we where told to * up. They where Irish league level, we would take 5 off them, they where pish. I said they would put us out and they now have a 99% chance to do that cause we are pish and * sat on their hands all * summer. I said it would be up there with red imps in terms of embarrassing and this will be worse but everyone crack on deluding themselves that we stand a chance in a country we have never won. Against a team who have won all their euro home game this season, at altitude 200 miles from the Chinese border.

I am not talking about relative to CCV, it’s clear in our team we give Scales the role of progressing the ball out from the two centre backs and it is why he gets picked ahead of Trusty, yet he isn’t very good at it.

CCV was poor last night and that is a worry too.

The overarching point is we have stacked sticking plaster after sticking plaster on this team and when it requires major surgery sooner or later those plasters will fail.

It is unbelievable to me that those running the club can’t see that and never learn from their mistakes, infact it’s worse than that they appear to massively jump to the wrong conclusions from their mistakes.

I just think that he and Diazen don't gel. They look like strangers on that side. We have regressed and the board are setting BR up for a fall. He looks like a manager who has found himself trapped with no way out. Maybe a wee clause in his contract stops him from walking away this time. I think a lot of what he tried last night was out of desperation. As for Idah that's a player who looks like the lights are on but there's no one home. He just looks blank and expressionless with no hint of emotion never mind passion.

Genuinely think we miss what Taylor brings. Even as an option.
