I mostly agree, but the worry with Europa league is that someone like Maeda and/or Hatate is sold to balance the books and not adequately replaced. Which may happen anyway tbf.

Thinking about games against Young Boys and Brugge last season, even though they were struggles it still felt like the possibility of a goal was there right the way through. The lack of creativity or any real threat tonight was stark and pretty concerning. It never at any stage felt like a goal was coming.

 

If we go through it doesn’t really matter anyway. We won’t spend the money that comes along with it, so it’s irrelevant. Going out won’t make them wake up either, as it’s happened many times in the past and we haven’t changed our approach. Save us the embarrassment and put us out our * misery. Absolutely sickened.

There were a lot of angry fans around me tonight, many of whom who, more often than not, would not normally criticise the board but even they were raging tonight. I think tonight will be the starting gun for our fans to begin to vent their fury towards the board and the game against Livi could turn ugly.

I basically accuse our board of just looking to measure up against the huns. I feel like if they are absolutely * and in turmoil then our board take their foot off the gas.

To me it looks like we aim to be a wee bit better than the huns and that's the ambition of our club.

This. Even if we do somehow scrape through which I’m almost certain won’t happen, it’ll be literally impossible to get the players in required. When I say that, I don’t mean to compete in the champions league just mean a squad that won’t get utterly embarrassed.

If we do go through we’ll be what young boys and Bratislava were last season, the absolute whipping boys that teams will relish taking 5/6/7 off of. Part of me thinks, we’d be as well save ourselves the embarrassment because other than the extra money coming in (which we don’t spend anyway) there’s nothing good that can come from champions league football this season.

When we’re celebrating some 17 year old kid getting himself a ridiculous booking meaning he can’t play against us in the return game for * Kairat Almaty then you sort of know the level we’re at.
