Genuinely, I want us to win next week just for prides sake but the thought of playing like that against the cream of the crop gives me the fear. A good team would have pummeled us tonight, even on the break giving us all the ball.

I take no joy in it trust me. I knew everyone was too flippant. People telling me to * up cause a pointed this out. Only silver lining is we still have europa league football even then with this squad we will be whipping boys. Almaty will finish bottom of the UCL group stage though as they aren't great but will give us a doing over there as the sqaud isn't strong enough.

The positive certainly is that we were very rarely ever threatened and controlled most of the game in terms of its flow. We just did very little with all that possession and never really threatened them all that much ourselves. Really if you were watching the game as a neutral it was a pretty drab 0-0 with neither side doing much in the final third.

Could play till tomorrow morning and we'd still not score.
Desperately need to refresh the squad and we failed and now we need a * rb to add to the list.

    * the board, If i was Roger's I'd walk tonight.

That all felt very flat tonight - the team, the fans, Rodgers after the game. Just a real lack of energy and optimism. Its very hard to feel excited about celtic at the moment and being honest I am almost at the point in my head of 'what difference does it make anyway '. If we qualify we will be embarrassed to make tons of money we dont spend. I might cheer up having slept on it but that felt as bland and insipid as any european night I can remember.

Crazy that its the same in terms of the coefficient. You would think the points awarded should be staggered from Champions League to Europa to Conference.

Agreed. By the 60th minute after our slight upturn in performance after HT I felt resigned to a 0-0 perhaps 0-1 loss to a sucker punch goal.

Complete apathy from me as we are supporting a club with no ambition or strategy. It's soul destroying.

You were right and I was wrong, mate; but don't lose heart: we're still in this tie.

I know mate, it's why we've yo-yo'd with the leagues around us for auto-qualification slots. The leagues with more teams in the Europa yield more points and we break into the CL and struggle to get many. It's a catch 22 really.

Who is out for them next week?

Didn't realise Satpaev is suspended, that's a massive one, comfortably their best player.

Id be shocked if their keeper makes it next week too.

Anyone else? Looking for any sort of positive :56:

Was a typical covid season performance. We played with no urgency against the lost teams

Wanted Lennon gone after the Cluj game because it was obvious he couldn't do better. I have a bit more faith in Rodgers but his football has been dire all year long. Last autumn he seemed to get it, let us play with more urgency like Ange but we reverted to * passing around the back and trying to carry the ball into the net months ago. It is worrying, especially as the board's not supporting him.

Your right so very true. Just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever though that the points awarded towards the coefficient are not staggered based on the competition and even the stage in the competition I would say as well.

I don't know the details, but that sounds right, as he looked bizarrely gutted about his yellow if not.

Tbh they caused us enough problems throughout the game with little of the ball for me to be nervous as * going there even with a couple of them out.

We were already barebones with a full squad and we've since lost Johnston, potentially Maeda. They were far better than I expected, and we were far worse.

A small part of me prefers that it finished 0-0 rather than us sneaking in a goal at the end as being all square gives 0 excuse for complacency in the away game that we had tonight.
