To me he’s been playing like his heads been out the door since the start of preseason.

For once can we not act like a proper club and actually recruit players in before getting to situations like this.

I said it a couple of weeks back but his body-language worries me. Doesn’t seem himself at all. Very concerning.

Looks like he's mentally checked out. His form has been * and he was * tonight.

Second part is why I do like him there.
But he needs the service too.

Sort of guy to play in the middle and with dynamic wide men, he just pops up and pokes it home.

Find him more effective there than out wide, but that's dependent on having wingers to do that

If he has wanted to go should have just sold him.

Now we will punt him and have 5 days to replace him. Mind you that would have happened anyway.

For me the main striker at celtic needs to have strong finishing in moments like that. Hooper buries that chance. What I'd give for him.

And btw so does 38 year old 'past it' Vardy.

I don't trust maeda through on goal.

    Aye can't disagree there bud.

Not wanting Vardy at this stage, it's a lazy signing and no planning etc.
But you're right, he puts that away all day long.
He also does more than Idah and would improve us short term for that

If he wants a move, he ain't going to get it playing as * as that.

He's back to normal Maeda (or worse) - last season's purple patch is distant memory never to be repeated.

He also missed late in the cup final and Ibrox last season. We have become to over reliant on him without others contributing enough. Even when Kyogo wasn't scoring, his movement created space for others. We don't get that with Idah.

Come to think of it, you are right, Maeda was just as responsible as Schemeichel for us losing the Cup Final.

He's been phoning it in for a while, and he has zero composure in one on ones.

A lot of focus has been on him and we rely heavily on the guy because we lack any real creativity, all roads lead back to the Board and their mismanagement of the club.

Never expected us to ever be in a position where we relied on him as heavily.

He's evidently improved under Rodgers but he still has his obvious limitations. We've gone from having 3 or 4 around him under Ange who we could also rely on to basically nothing.

It's complete and utter negligence. We are going backwards.

Last year he was quite comfortably our third best attacker (until January). Now he’s comfortably our best and that’s with him having regressed again since about April.

His form has been poor for a long time now yet we’re still so reliant on him. Looks to be like a player who wants away now. Still burst a gut but he’s been so poor probably since that Bayern Munich game.

That being said, it’s not his problem that we can’t play him through the middle due to neglecting the wide positions and literally having no one else to play there but that doesn’t excuse the missed chances, poor touches and shanked crosses into the stand, all of which have slowly crept back into his game.

Technically he’s * awful, and always has been, despite his purple patch last year.

You never ever fancy him going through one on one. His composure is akin to that of someone who’s just been released from a 15 stretch and is immediately confronted by Maya Jama with her birthday suit on.

For all the running he does he’s an utter shitebag and always has been. Lost count of the amount of times he’s backed out of tackles or ducked away from the goalie if he thinks he’s going to take a hit.

Even the way he makes 10 yard passes annoys me. So nonchalant, slows everything right down, either underhit or overhit.

And to make matters more hilarious, he’s our best winger. And our best striker. Hahaha. We’re *.

I don't know what the problem is but there certainly is one. Miles off the player of last season.
