From talks of £8M last year to £4.5M this year the board will be loving that bargain.

They're known quantities. Not who I was referring to.

I mean it's obviously not always dead on accurate, I know that.

But you get a feeling sometimes and they do give an indication of the type of player they are.

This guy looks like he can't dribble, isn't fast, not that creative. Another Luis Palma type. Not my type of winger. Also injured all of last season, and decent (nothing more) stats in the couple of years before that.

    Pass from me.

Think I remember watching Bolingoli's highlights and being impressed. He was right up there with the worst I've seen

I mean Bolingoli’s was easy though, he could beat a couple of players or make a good tackle then trip over the ball.

Balikwisha is a class act. He can play right across the front, and can deputise on both wings. He has tricky feet, and in bursts has the speed to get away from opponents, does a power of tracking back and pressing, just what you would want for £4.5M.

Played at a higher level and better pedigree than the Norweigan Orjasaeter, who went for £6.5M to FC Twente.
If we get him, it will be a statement signing by the Board.

Ahhh so cos you know they’re good off of more than a 4/5 minute wee YouTube clip it’s not enough to get excited about and that

We need more than 1 winger.

Question is, is he going to displace Yang and allow Tilio out the door? If so then ffs get him in

Never seen a reaction quite like this to a player with a pretty decent pedigree. Based entirely off an 8 min youtube compilation that is only taken from about 5 games. 3 of which are in the UCL.

I love a youtube comp as much as the next guy but there's only so much you can take from it.

It's a cliche but you could put one together for 8 mins of any player in my time watching celtic and they'd look quality if you only took the best bits.

As ever this transfer and any in future will be a lottery to some degree.

I'd disagree with him not being creative or fast. Depends what your expectation of pace is. Probably not Maeda or Kuhn level but he isn't slow.

Also tbf on Palma if there's one thing I'd say he is/was, it's creative.

Time will tell if he does sign but I think the reactions are a bit OTT.

    They’re wildly over the top.

The only person who has watched him consistently is @Belgian_lad and he’s always said it’s not his quality or ability that puts him off, it’s the injury record which is fair. For £4.5m, definitely worth the risk. 47 goals involvements in 150 games, in a better league than our own and has a pretty decent record against the top sides in Belgium too.

Rodgers will get the best out of him and drag every single bit of ability out of him. Just want it done now. Get it finalised and over the line. He’s started the season well by the looks of it, albeit not from the wing.

Still remember I think his debut away in Sarajevo where at one point he was around 60 yards out of position.

Can we afford to have him and KT on the left. Both being managed due to injuries?

I'm not the only one underwhelmed by it though. From the little footage there is of him, he looks awful :giggle1:

I think that’s a genuine concern to have. I’m still hoping for another winger to come in and play on the right.

In terms of ability, I think too many people are turning their nose up at him. Looking at the game right now, we are crying out for someone with some creativity.
