Would assume that means he's wanting a pay off from Antwerp

Makes sense. We ponder like fannies, and they also ponder like fannies. Double ponder means this transfers taking over about 4 windows :56:

Be interesting if he is signed for the wing considering he's been playing more in midfield this season.

He always ranks really high statistically but it seems mainly because he defends so well for a wide/attacking player.

Wins the ball back a lot, tackling, intercepting, picking up loose balls all while commiting barely any fouls.

Definitely a weird style of player.

Would be good for Europe then if we had two "wingers" that both get involved in the defensive game and getting their bodies in the way with the likes of Maeda and Balikwisha.

Something like that makes me warm up to the signing, would have huge use in Europe but equally in the league as well given the turnover and counters we could start. Assuming of course the squad doesnt get lambasted for not first passing to CB pairing left to right at least 5 times before attempting a forward pass that is

Him left, Yamada up front and Maeda on the right to defend like maniacs against PSG away etc

That would only be if he was losing money to join us but I really can't see that he would. We will be paying more or at least the same as Antwerp. Only thing I could think of from a monetary point of view would potentially be a loyalty bonus that he's possibly due but, again, he would surely get a sign on fee here.

    Very strange situation, that.

13 months and there is still "issues" for a player that wasn't even first or second choice for the manager.

    Love it.

How many people have actually seen him play?

Orjasaeter for example scored 2 goals in 14 games before going to Twente.

Balikwisha has played at all 3 levels of European competition and won the Belgian title. Only 24. I think the length of time this has taken and the fact there is just a bit of apathy with our transfer dealings is definitely influencing things.

I've been up and down on him myself at points but looking at it plainly he's the most experienced of any winger we've been linked with and don't think he's as slow as has been suggested either. Would like to see a more recent highlights reel.
