Would a 39 year old score in spl? Much more physical but yes probably would. Would he play all the time, prob not.
    In Europe, no chance.

Again there are exceptions in world football, your Maldinis for example. But he's not got anywhere near the level to play consistently and score where we need him to score, in Europe.

    Gotta be joking.

Had to check and make sure its not April 1st.

Far too old and looking for a final payday, this is our version of defoe...

Not to mention that abomination of a wife he has.

I don't think there is a whole pile in it right now. Seems to be all driven by Vardy or his agent.

We have an extra days grace to get him for the CL as he's a free agent so I'd say he is likely a backup option if we don't get some of our more preferred options which is highly probable.

    This.

A vodka and red bull swigging muppet.

"I wasnt racist I was ignorant" was a complete cop out, especially given the context of it. Drunk in a casino being a *. It wasn't like he was having a bit of banter.

More importantly, I dont want that rancid cow of a wife of his anywhere near us. Vardy clearly cant make her behave.
Shes a * notorious media *. Wrote for the Sun during the Euros leaking everyones business to the point where Hodgson had to ask the captain Rooney to "tell her to calm down".

Then the whole wagatha christie thing. Unbelievably, SHE, not Rooney TRADEMARKED the term "wagatha christie" during her own trial.

Can you imagine that * running amok up here with the Scottish Sun? Leaking all sorts that wee Jaimie tells her about the club and team.

Get this so far to * away from us. We've enough * problems with this window ffs.

Could he do a job for us? Yes in the short term.

Should we be aiming a lot higher given how long we’ve had to find a striker and the funds available? Yes definitely.

    Both are true.

Board should be hounded for this signing, if it happens, but too many fans are apathetic towards it now and will say ‘he will score goals’.

This signing just validates every concern we have about the board and their lack of strategy when it comes to transfers. No doubt Rodgers has been unhappy with the players being brought to him and it’s now up to him to go through his phone book - similar to what happened with Schmeichel.

Would take Vardy instead of Kenny that's for sure, maybe even instead of Idah.
It's a compromise but (it seems?) we are in a desperate position.
Vardy will insist on being at least 2nd choice, so that would mean Maeda stays left which creates another problem.

BUT if we (huge IF) get 2 wingers in, having centre forward options of Maeda, Idah and Vardy wouldn't be the worst.
Would much rather we splurge on top drawer CF and wingers though and sell Idah, even Maeda.

Surely if he's "desperate" to sign for us, then he'll be up at the game tomorrow.

Defoe actually banged in a lot of goals for the huns. Their only complaint about him was how often he was injured.

Vardy doesn't have a worrying injury record.

You’re talking about something that happened 10 years ago now ffs.

He was definitely just a bit thick and not racist. Ridiculous thing to drag up.

Even as an option throughout the season he would be worth it.

I'll say again though, his wife doesn't even come into this. Mental that folk are not wanting him because of her:giggle1:

If we'd signed him two weeks ago, he plays tomorrow, scores the goals to get us through and then plays a tiny bit part role all season he'd be a great signing.

But getting him after the qualifers is a waste

Some of the * that's being talked on here is mental. Who gives a * what his wife is like for a start.... Vardy signing for us would be box office - you can be guaranteed he'd score against the huns and rise them to the hilt...* scored 20 goals last season, so who cares what his age is-this is a short term stopgap but what about it...

I would hazard a guess this isn't going to happen and we'll probably sign another striker but in an ideal world we'd sign both and then Kenny might go on loan... Or someone would take Idah off our hands for even half what we paid for him.....

He scored 10 last season not 20, but agree short term he'd do a job here even at this age with the amount of chances we create.

Hilarious that anyone cares about his wife.

If folk think its a poor signing due to his age and no pre season for him then fair , his wife being a tool should have nothing to do with it.
