Swimming is quality exercise. Well done for not giving up on exercise despite the leg issues

I was on a fasting programme for last couple of months and its made a massive difference. I didnt eat until 11 and stop eating at 6pm. And every other week I will try one 24 hour fast. Dropped from around 16.7 to 15st.

Im not letting it get in the way of life so if I have a reason not to do it one particular day I wont. But even 6 of 7 days makes a massive difference. I stopped for holidays for a couple of weeks but need to get back on it tomorrow. First few days were hardest so going to be a struggle but will try my best

Sween I actually came to this thread to ask about the intermittent fasting and low and behold your last post is about this. Could you give me more information cause seriously considering doing this myself. I also want to try the discipline side of things as well as well as losing weight/healthier lifestyle.

Yeah. So rules are simple. You only eat for an 8 hour period, so a 16 hour fast. It suits me to eat between 11am-6pm but you can tweak the hours to suit. You can drink black coffee, tea, and water during fasting hours and nothing else.

Orher than that, try to make sure the first meal you have to break the fast is healthy and thats it. I also managed a couple of 24 hour fasts I did one a week. I wasn't super strict about what I ate during eating hours but my stomach shrunk and I lost the cravings to eat as much junk.

First few days are tough. Felt a bit dizzy and sore head, but after that its amazing how quickly your body adapts to a new normal. And its not the lack of food causing those initial feelings, its just your body coming off all the general * you are used to eating.

You feel much better quickly. Sharper mentally and physically. I did struggle to go to gym and fast - some people manage it but I thought it was tough. So on gym days I would sometimes break the fast but only to have enough energy to exercise.

That said, over hols I came off it and I did add weight back. Was about 1.5 st down and now about 1 st down. Going back on it on monday when Im back at work.

Definitely give it a go. It works, and if you get over the first few days it goes get easier. If it helps I will write some notes as I start on Monday? It might help you and will keep me honest!

Work away please. I'm going on a family holiday next week so will probably start it after that.
