Excellent keeper, massive potential. Absolutely no worries about him taking over from next season.

This is what we should really be doing in all positions.

Mentoring younger guys with experience and gradually having them transition into starting roles.

I have zero worries about the GK position.

We’ve been blessed with Hart and Schmeichel. That’s really a case of perfect timing with those two, we’d struggle to get someone of that quality and experience in every time they move on.

Looking at the PL just now, you’d be looking at a Forster return or Dubravka. Neither of which I think are as good as Hart or Kasper, as much as I love Forster.

I know everybody sees things in their own way and has different opinions etc. but I honestly don't know how you can come to that conclusion. I've seen pretty much every game both keepers have played for us and can't remember anything that could justify saying Sinisalo is a massive drop-off. Kasper has done good for us but it's clear his career is winding-down(as is natural at his age). He's just that bit slower getting down these days and his much-vaunted passing ability is not what it once was. He still has a part to play but personally I would be phasing him out for VS.

Agree and what I wanna see happen at RB (and other areas). All great that AJ is dominant and Ralston is a sturdy enough backup, but Ralston isn't the long term replacement for AJ, so I'd rather move Ralston on in favour of an equivalent to what we are trying with Sinisalo.

Folk are saying he inspires confidence, I think the exact opposite.

Not berating him for it but case in point diving for a ball 2 yards wide last night.

Their CV’s and attributes are incomparable, if you think Sinasalo is the equal of or better than Kasper I really don’t know what to say to that tbh.

Fair play to you Paul. From what I've seen in his appearances so far, he has done the basics practically flawlessly (handling, command of his box, communication, distribution) and has also made several truly excellent saves to boot. Not saying he's anywhere near Kasper's level yet (and perhaps never will be) but he's made a * decent start, especially given his age and relative lack of experience.

What's great is we are having a debate about 2 very good keepers.
We've come a long way since Barkas and Bain!
This lad will do just fine - starting as #1....next season.

I think he looks good. Still young for a keeper but to be Celtic first choice next season or the one after he has to tighten it up a bit. I think what gives me encouragement is he looks better every time I see him.

I didn’t think he deserved stick for ‘saving’ the one 2 yards past the post. He was very blatantly over-excited and trying to impress. It was a bit daft but a good attitude IMO.

Makes some fantastic saves. Think his distribution is excellent. And he’s a good communicator. Just needs to tighten up on a couple of wee things.

Would be absolutely fine with him being our number 1 now.

I'm talking about their status right now. Obviously Kasper has had a far better career than Sinisalo but we're not talking about the 2015 version of KS, we're talking about the 2025 version and there's a difference between the two. As it stands today VS looks fitter, quicker and more agile than KS. To me at least. That's no shame on Kasper, who's had an amazing career, but he's 39 now and although he can still do a job he's not the keeper he was.

Absolutely fine with Kasper being number 1 for now.

Think it was harsh to drop Sinisalo for the final, but that's a different conversation to be honest.

But for number 1 Kasper has the gloves.
I just hope if/when he may drop off a cliff ability wise, we aren't slow to swap it around and bring Sinisalo in to the number 1 pick. He's good enough for it and over time he will sharpen up where he may have some development still to do.

Sinasola was excellent last night. Feels like one of the best bits of business we've done getting him in and ready to take over from Schmichael eventually.

Seen many a keeper good and bad diving when the balls going out conceding a corner. It's a common thing.

Would give him all the cup games this year. Semis/finals/Huns whatever. Only way he develops

Definitely. Schmichael is looking sharp this season so far but nothing like a bit of competition either to keep that the case. Win, win.
