What would you say technical means football wise?

 

Needs to be more tenacious. Looks even slower than last season.
Had some great crosses, and was really unlucky with the free kick. But he really needs to up his energy and intensity

 

Thought he was excellent last night, so unlucky with that free kick too..

 

I am very encouraged by his attitude to falling down the pecking order. It comes across to me as if it's a bit of a weight off his shoulders, but also that he's full of determination to prove himself. Very good signs. This bhoy should not be written off.

 

Thought he had a very good game last night.

 

Needs to play like last night in most matches for him to be a 11 million pound player.

 

Set pieces great, but general play needs improvement. Should be running the show against Falkirk. He has the ability.

 

Good game, good energy and positivity with a great dead ball - promising.
First touch and composure still need a lot of work.

 

Main criticism I’d have of him last night is he started getting too cocky on the ball once he knew he was having a good game. Almost Bitton-esque of being too laid back on the ball thinking he’ll have far more time on it than he does.

He’ll learn from McGregor though, saw him several times at him to be quicker with the ball. Time on the bench behind Nygren will do no harm as well.

 

Played decent. I think he’s done pretty well overall so far. I think folk are quick to forgot how good he was last season in some of the big games. Was our best player over the 2 games v Bayern. Arguably our best v Villa. Went on a good run of winning MOTM around Xmas time too.

The price tag was always gonna be a problem. Folk think well £11m then he’ll be able to rip Scotland up every week in 2nd gear. Well £11m in the big leagues in Europe is absolute pennie for a start. It’s the sign of a decent young player with potential and that’s what he is. It’s a lot for us to spend but it’s almost guaranteeing a good player. We could get 5 new CMs in for £2m and maybe strike lucky with one.

Or folk saying he should be an instantly replacement for O’Riley at that price. The O’Riley he replaced was a £30m player not the one we got for £1.5m people tend to forget.

 

The transfer fee isn't his fault but you expect better moments of quality or at least one big game where he shows up and shows why we paid a record fee for him. It's looking like he doesn't have that in him tbh. Lost his place to Nygren who was also * tonight.

 

Still waiting to see what he’s good at.

Pish defensively. Pretty much zero goal threat from open play. Not a good dribbler. Doesn’t play needle threading passes.

What the * does he do?

 

Cracking corner taker.

 

Penalties and a decent corner every now and then. That's it. That's what we spunked £11million on.

 

Even that is overrated. He took some good set pieces the other night, but most of the time he’* and miss from corners.

 

Nah only guy to whip them in properly.

 

I think Engels still has a chance.
Idah has no chance.

 

Not gonna put too much blame on him tonight but he was rotten when he came on.

I still think if we sold him now we'd make a small profit, but we are heading into the territory of making a loss on him if he continues his form.
