If he is signing…why the * did we not sign him about 6 weeks ago?

Nobody else seems to be interested and his club are practically willing it to happen. No reason for it to take this long.

 

This guys started all 3 games this season. He'll be ready if needed. However brendan isn't one to paly anyone we sign for about 2 weeks

 

6 weeks wages mate.. Mon now, you know the drill..

 

Rumours yesterday was he was waiting to see about the champions league. That was just a we random rumour yesterday after no news for days...

Could well be he looked at the draw

 

Id agree on a loan for the left tbh. Jota will come back, and he will be no1. Isn't that an ideal situation to loan somebody we can't afford? I'd say so..

I'd say meada up top, loan for the left to cover big mic (,if he signs) and actually spend on the right. However if a loans for someone we genuinly couldn't afford, and it strenghtnes us I'm all for it.

 

I think he will be one of 3 or 4 attacking recruits but I think Maeda will go before the window closes.

When I looked into him a bit more particularly his form post injury last season I liked the look of him, he is an intelligent player in the runs he makes, passes he spots and decision making of when to shoot or play in a team mate. Not Kuhn quick but I would say faster than Jota. In those games he played off both wings and occasionally in a 10 role.

Not that there is much to beat but I think he would improve our options we have just now and be straight in as a starter.

Read something on him, can't remember where as he's been linked for that long now, that he's very good off that ball. Presses well, lots of possession won in opposition half.

That would definitely fit out style of play.

He actually reminds me a bit of Scott Sinclair, and given how well him and Tierney worked together you could see why we would look at a similar style.

Not convinced KT and Maeda are the best fit on sale side.

Ideally sign Balikwisha and put Maeda back thru the middle

Moan when we sign nobody, moan when we sign somebody... cany win. Cancel the window.

 

We honestly could have had him Early June imo, by all accounts he wants to come here, his club need to sell and he was available for a good amount (£4 million).

See even if we had a few targets fall through (Let's be generous and say 2) This is still a signing we could have done 2 weeks ago.

 

Maybe we wanted to see how he started this season, if he looked sharp and over his injuries

 

He's out of contract next summer, so our board know he wants to come here so we sit until the last week of the window in the hope his club drop the asking price due to fear of him signing a pre contract in January.

Squad strengthening and prep are secondary when our board thinks there a possibility of saving a few hundred grand

I want to like him. I do think he'll very likely be here in the next week or so, I can definitely see it..

It's just that I was hoping for someone who had a bit more of the x factor in terms of beating a man (which he looks really poor at). Supposed to be rapid but thought he didn't look it in videos I've watched. Also thought his deliveries from the left were * poor. All of that added to the fact he spends a lot of time out, isn't that appealing..

He does look like he can finish, takes up good positions in space and presses well though..

That's all well and good but when we've been waiting this long and the rumours of it must be for top targets, it's very underwhelming..
