    Ran like a bowling club.

    * awful. It's a wonder any decent player wants to be here. What manager worth their salt is gonna wanna walk into this in future, too.

Little will change while we dominate domestically. Thats the straightjacket.

Since the implosion at rangers, its been too easy to win domestically and too comfortable for the board.

Winning domestically will keep the worst of the anger at bay and stifle any appetite to improve at board level.

I wish there was more visibility and engagement from them. A clear structure. Clearly stated aims. Something to buy into other than just winning the spl.

At ambitious clubs the sort of thing you see is a chairman or an owner side by side with a manager delivering goals. Whether thats getting ptomoted a division, qualifying for something, winning something etc

How good would it be to see rodgers being appointed or signing a new contract flanked by desmond and lawell along with a real mission statemrnt - "we are delighted to announce a new 3 year contract for the manager. Over the last number of years the club has enjoyed success on and off the field. The financial position of the club is tge healthiest its ever been and our ambition for the club over the next three years is to establish ourselves in the champions league with goal of reaching the quarter finals within the next 3 seasons. We are committed to financially backing the manager to achieve this target etc"

This is the kind of thing ambitious boards do (see tony bloom at hearts even)

We operate in this space where commitments are vague and nobody can be held to anything. Its like in the silence the board are deliberately non commital so they never have to stretch outside their comfort zone.

This board have grown used to there dividends each year and need to be removed.
When you look at the average supporter and what they spend on tickets, kits, merchandise etc even travel throughout the season for some it adds up to a pretty penny and this board sit on there hands and gamble with OUR European qualification just to prove a point ? From the outside it looks to me that there reading all the noise and thinking f*ck them.

As many have said, transparency is the key.
Without transparency, there is no accountability and those who hide behind the veil can continue to mask their intentions or competence.

The fans are the lifeblood of the club, we are entitled to better, much better.
It's time the stewards of our great club were held to account.

You could honestly pick a handful of names out a hat from this forum and they’d do a better job. That’s saying something too.

With the huns likely being abysmal again, its unlikely we'll see anything done.

Said it before, I honestly think it'll take them winning the league again before any change is made.

We'll likely sign another 2, maybe 3 players, we'll see this window as a 7/10 in total, ans nothing else will happen, rinse and repeat.

The frustration for me is that they're so out of touch thar they don't realise how easily we as fans could be appeased.

If we signed 2 new wingers foe £6-10m each along with Munteanu, maybe another creative midfielder who can also play wide like Nygren, then a back up LB, I'd be more than happy with this window.

They're making it so so much harder for themselves. They treat us with utter contempt. And get away with it.

Can you imagine this lot running a club in Argentina or Brazil...they'd be living on the streets by now.

Its a wonder they dont really get bored themselves. Like Desmond is old. He doesnt need money. What does he get out of celtic? Most in his position would only have involvement as a passion project. If not interested in pursuing new and higher goals then why bother being involved.

They're gonna have to be some players to turn this into a 7/10 window.

Been thinking similar myself. What are they getting out of running the club(aside from a hefty wage in some cases)? Since Christmas they have basically sabotaged the squad with their transfer dealings. I cannot understand how anybody who claims to have the club's best interests at heart could allow things to slip to where we find ourselves right now. The press are too busy fawning over the latest new arrival at Snake Mountain to ask a pertinent question or push for an interview with Desmond or Lawwell so they can explain what's going on. This is potentially a massive story in Scottish football but all we have is silence from the board or bland replies from BR. Any football club should be pushed to becoming the best it can be with the resources it has. We aren't even close to doing that.

Desmond has 1 seat on the board, he does not have a controlling shareholding. The narrative that keeps being put out there that a one member of the board, who doesn't have a controlling shareholding can veto any major decision is nonsese. He would need the support of a majority of the board for that. Of course Desmond is a major issue but he is not capable of exercising the level of influence this narrative has.

He can't even be bothered attending our board meetings, he does so via proxies. All the hallmarks are there of Desmond being an absentee landlord, somebody who has the most influence at the club (but not a controlling one) but doesn't have the time or energy to make use of it. The board in my mind is being ran by Lawwell.

Major decisions have to be decided by the board, not the shareholders who can only influence the appointment and removal of the board. There simply has to be alignment between our shareholders of which Desmond is not a majority shareholder, to keep appointing the same board members and there has to be alignment in our boardroom for them to keep pursuing the same strategy.

What we need is some new shareholders to come on board and challenge the direction of current shareholders are bringing us down but Dermot Desmond cannot simply do this alone. He needs the support of the other shareholdings to put a board in place and its the board who decides on the major decisions - not the shareholdings.

Our CEO and CFA are paid extremely well given their positions at celtic almost look after themselves. It is their career rather than their passion. It is quite unique for a CEO and CFO to have such little influence in a large PLC as they do in football clubs as ultimately the vast majority of club and financial success comes from variables outside of their control (winning games of football). So getting 500k-900k a year is a great deal for a relatively low risk gig (compared to similar CEO/CFO roles). They have no incentive whatsoever to rock the boat or increase risk from a balance sheet perspective.

Lawwell gets a bit over 120k for his non exec chairman role, which again is a good deal for very little. And the rest of the independent non execs (ex Desmond) will be fulfilling their roles as appointed to do so in their eyes. They are not responsible for day to day operations , they are there to ensure good corporate governance, risk management and oversight, etc.

Its utterly underwhelming from a fan perspective but I can see why we are where we are.
