The Graelish thing is obviously Rodgers chancing his arm. I imagine Nicholson and McKay were a bit 'oh, ok Brendan we'll make the call :39:'

If that's the type of signing the manager is looking at no wonder we're getting nowhere. How about they all try and find some sort of middle ground? Before half the fan base spontaneously combust ffs.

We offered a quarter of the asking price for a 'realistic' target then thought ah well we'll see if Jack Grealish fancies it.

Just by coincidence I've got a batch of magic beans I will sell for a very good price if anyone is interested

Where is the Grealish stuff coming from?

I'd imagine we do this every window with big name EPL players that are looking to leave. Can't imagine that's the level we are targeting consistently.

Should have got him out to Como to meet with Brendan

Grealish holidayed with family in Positano in Italy, near Naples, along with other resorts on the Amalfi Coast. It served to only intensify hopes that he would be joining Napoli under Antonio Conte. The Italian champions did hold an interest in Grealish but would always struggle to cover his wages. Celtic also made enquiries about a deal but Everton were front of the queue.

If you knew a person like our recruitment team, you'd genuinely recommend professional help.

It's like someone living in a bedsit who could easily afford a nice house in the suburbs and you can't understand why they choose to live like that and then you find out he enquired about Buckingham Palace. And he's still living in the bedsit.

Nothing major happens in the club without him, but I'd be astonished if every transfer is ran past him..

More realisitic, is he OK's a transfer budget.

If we do it’ll be to register a winger we find exciting, register him, who hasn’t had a pre-season who needs built up to first team fitness until January

Its went way past tragic incompetence to just sheer * lunacy.

What the actual * is going on at this club.

Did Mark Lawwell actually leave? Jack * Grealish. Ffs.
Wont pay anything over 3.5m for a desperately needed winger, but making enquiries about EPL players on 300k a week.

Is a * team of chimps running our transfer window?

    * *.

For a tight fisted board, waiting until the end of the window makes zero sense.

We over pay for players when it gets to the end of the window and we scramble about for who will come.

It's * madness. That one window where Giakoumakis, CCV and Jota on the same last day of the window seems to have * us where the board think they can repeat it. It was literally the most single successful transfer day in our history.

    Crazy.

Grealish getting asked about when there’s zero chance is more Rodgers target in my mind, a guy he’d ask about and aim for, and is impossible and would never happen even if he was desperate to come to us.

And the type the board would happily ask about hoping it leaked, so it looks like we have ambition and can say to Rodgers we tried to match his ones. Top bullshit that.

This window more than anything though, with guys we have been linked with and the noises. The scouting looks spot on, the manager demands are positive and we know haven’t been met, and the bids we know have been insufficient, and added in more than anything we know we have the money to do it.

There’s nowhere else to point fingers at this window, Tisdale is doing a job clearly, the manager is demanding backed and quality, other teams have talked about our stinginess in Go Ahead Eagles (with a guy who looked down our list of targets)

There is not a single direction to point to except the board for us here.

We delayed Nygren for 2 weeks or so to knock £500k off the price. And it was £1.9m before that, purely due to his contract. He’s worth a lot more than £1.9m as soon as he signs, and we managed to do it and knock off more. But that could have delayed enough for another team to get him.

That makes zero sense. They gambled having an asset worth millions more to save £500k off a fee.

We always say speculate to accumulate is something our board are * at doing, but it’s worse than that. And you know what, chances are we win the play off, then moves happen, and that gets pointed towards as backing, and it’s bullshit

The thing that * me off when that’s been rolled out, is yes that is definitely the case for some players, but not the players I’d want here. Certainly waiting on them, and not getting the * knowing us, that’s not an excuse.

Two stand out examples of guys who signed for us, due to us in Europe and it was before qualifiers they signed - Van Dijk had a worlds worst debut against Karagandy and Moussa Dembele helped us get through BR’s first season.

Has there been any outstanding signing after we’ve secured the CL? I can’t think of one.

Aye, that’ll be why we’re getting nowhere :giggle1:. I don’t think for a single second we would have even considered Grealish.
