But in the SPL we need more progressive play from the back, particularly against teams with a low block and CCV consistently passes the buck and leaves it to Scales to step up. Why does CCV leave to Scales and not show that leadership himself? Is it because Scales is better on the ball than him?

Telling that rather than something substantive you only have glib comments. You are spouting nonsense and you can't stand over it.

I've given you the stats and they contradict your position.

No, stats alone don't tell you the whole story, and I'm just not being drawn into a lengthy discussion over it because I can't be bothered watching you continuing to try and polish the * that is Scales. He's * and we need better.

Nobody is talking about them alone. Strawman argument.

What they are is an independent and objective markers and what they are doing in this context is making a mockery of the absolute bullshit you are spouting which you have nothing to support yourself on.

It's not entertaining. You spout pish.

    It's not informative. It's retarded.

You never heard of Hundercovers before @Hammy89 ?

You should have, the time you should have been on the board. Right enough, some people never learn.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

You can't plausibly exonerate nor condemn Scales on the basis of pass completion alone. You need to look at the player holistically.

He's not atrocious - that's just hyperbole. But he's also a level below what is required to make progress in Europe. I don't see how anyone can question that after the departure of Taylor he is now the weak link across the starting back four.

Maybe we ask him to do more than CCV in taking the ball out of defence, but I think inarguably his playmaking is predictable. He does tend to just meander up to the halfway line and make a fairly pedestrian pass. Irrespective as to how often he finds his man, there's few successful sequences that begin with a searching pass from Scales. If we need a centre-half to start the attack and play the ball, I think we can do better, frankly.

Arguably in defence he's no better or worse than Trusty, but we have less 'data' on the latter and £6m sunk into him. We're marking on a curve because we accept there may be more to Trusty we haven't seen yet. We've seen enough of Scales to know there's a ceiling to his development that falls below our minimum standards for a Celtic defender. It's the Taylor argument all over again - he works hard and he's fine for the SPFL, but realistically we can attract a better quality of player.

Answer this. Because you just ignored it. Can’t come out with pish, get questioned and then move past it.

Mate I’ve explained it to you about 15 times now why it’s Scales progressing and not CCV. You’ve created an argument that nobody is even talking about now.

And I’ll repeat, the fact he does it more doesn’t make him good at it. He’s not good enough.
