If he's available for that we should be all over it but again I'm not sure how concrete our interest is here. He's by far the most impressive centre back we've been linked with so far. Pacey, strong, aggressive and comfortable on the ball.

Not too convinced by him or the Dutch fella. Both seem quite slow and stiff.

This guy spends half the time on his * in the videos I’ve seen.

Le Havre defender Etienne Youte has thrown open the door to Celtic as he admitted he is awaiting the right club for his next move.


Reports in France suggest the Scottish Premiership champions have joined Anderlecht and Besiktas in the race to land the 23-year-old.


But the centre-back has yet to receive an offer with boss Brendan Rodgers conceding ahead of the clash with Aberdeen that no new arrivals were imminent.


Youte only has a year remaining on his contract and the Ligue 1 outfit would reportedly accept a €5million (£4.3million) fee this summer.


Speaking to Paris Normadie , Youte admitted: "I know now that I have to be patient before making a decision. For the moment, I'm here and I feel good within this group. I'm preparing for the season.

"If there are interesting offers for me and for the club, we will find an agreement together."

Thought he looked great when we were first linked with him earlier in window but seemed to go quiet instantly so thought there was nothing in it. Could it not maybe be 1 of Trusty or Scales that's away if true?

 

I’m thinking more he’ll be reliable back up for CCV to lessen his game time this season to avoid injuries, I hope anyway.

If we get him then Trusty likely away I’d say.

 

Why say that?

 

Don’t actually think CCV is as appealing to teams in England as we’d think. He’s not that fast and not a great passer (that’s all they want there nowadays).

After that I’m not so sure he’d push to move somewhere else unless it was a really good club. I’m sure there’d definitely been interest and questions asked before but would he leave to a Torino/udinese/celta Vigo/rennes type club? Not so sure. And although they could afford what we want for him, he wouldn’t leave us to go to the championship.

Not that quick? Really? I think he’s probably the quickest centre back over a short distance we’ve had in quite a long time, he’s so powerful off the mark that’s why no one ever really turns him but to be fair he just doesn’t have that top speed like Virgil or Ajer.

His passing is definitely hit or miss but still far better than Scales or Trusty.

 

He's a very good player and CB, very commanding and aggressive, just what we need.

At £4.3M that is a real bargain. It's a link that won't go away.

Just responding to why I think we’ve had him for so long. Unlike VVD and other centre half’s we’ve had.

but saying that I’ve just read that Crystal Palace are selling guehi and I wouldn’t be surprised if they came in for CCV as guehi himself isn’t the fastest haha! Although they’ll definitely feel they were burnt with edouard so not sure they’d buy from us again

Yeah it is a bit worrying we’re hearing these rumours that we’re still after centre half’s. Hopefully it’s just old enquiries that are only just coming to light now and our centre back search is done now with JSP.

however if CCV or trusty goes we are a bit *!

 

We need another center back because BR clearly doesn't rate Trusty so id imagine we are trying to punt him and not CCV.
