Nygren is never a winger in a month of Sundays.

    We need Balikwisha in, pronto.

His corners are better than nygrens … do we really want to go back to mcgregor taking corners ?

Fair point. We need him and trusty to play well so the board have no reason not to spend big.

Not today they weren’t. Engels corners were an embarrassment when he came on. Most of nygrens were at least in the right area.

still think we need better and more whip instead of floated in, potentially KT maybe?

Looked very determined when he came on, really liked his cameo. Needs to be that aggressive any time hes on the park.

Genuinely believe this guy possesses a * of a lot of potential, just not as a footballer.

22 year old Belgian international with over 50 appearances in the Bundesliga and folk are talking about like a Sunday league player.

Catch a grip. The guy is quality he just needs to add a few elements to his game to become a proper Celtic player.

I still maintain there’s a player there, need a lot more aggression from him though. He’s been a bit better the last few games in that respect.

Said it before, he's not an 8 like Hatate or Nygren..

And isn't really suited to the 'McGregor' role..

Its difficult to see where he's going to fit in, he'll need to evolve.. but should get a start v Falkirk on Friday..

Is he ther type to knuckle down and fight for his place, Im not so sure.

I've got Engels on the willing to entertain any reasonable offers list now.

I think he would do well in the 6 role if given time but that’s the issue he wont get enough. In Germany apparently it was his best position and to be fair he looked a bit more lively when he came on today.

Unironically, I think he'd be an excellent RB - his defensive work is good, fairly athletic, not amazing on the ball but has a brilliant cross on him. He played there a few times for Augsburg.

He's definitely a deeper lying player. But would need time to evolve in our team as there's a really heavy reliance on that position with how we play.

I'd like to see a trio of him, Hatate and Nygren.

I like him, but the difficulty of the McGregor role is obvious.. maybe we should expect different things from him if he plays there

Ah, I remember the good old days when we had players who could take decent corners and actually score free kicks. I wonder when Engles eventually leaves Celtic we will just remember him as that guy who cost 11 million who wasn't great but took a good corner.

I've said before I think the role he best suits is as a playmaker from DM. Turn over the ball and look for the quick ball over the top or through-pass.

It may be that this differs too much from McG's role and requires adjustments elsewhere. But as one of the biggest investments in our squad, arguably we've put ourselves in a position where we need to accommodate the player's strengths and weaknesses to some degree. It's that or just cut our losses and sell him asap. Playing him off the bench all season in roles he can't really perform is probably the worst solution.
