If we are signing players for that low a fee why the * do we need to wait for our European future to be decided :giggle1:

"Potentially" a permanent winger as well. If we sold Kuhn only to wait 2 months for a LOAN winger I'd greet.

Looks like the huns are utter * again, which will give our board an excuse not to spend.

However, if we do spend, I think we'll win the league again canter.

Their targets wouldn't get on our bench, their signings are dugmeat.

We best hope that Maeda doesn't get injured before this play off.

This is such a risky game to be playing.

We'll win this league without spending much, precisely because the Huns are *. The board gamble on this every season, and so far, they've guessed it right in nearly every season. Sad, but true.

we can’t go through season with Yang on right wing. Asking for trouble.
They not gambling. They not willing to pay asking price for players Brendan wants.
We going lose Brendan this season and can see players losing interest with them knowing he going.

Don't talk *. We don't even have a back up left winger and any of their 3 new wingers would play better in our team than Yang. It wouldn't be hard. We're painfully short on options up front. We're an injury away from having youth players on the bench.

It is gambling, since they think we don't need the players Brendan wants. If Huns had a decent manager, our board's gamble would fail.

See if Maeda and Forrest picked up injuries - genuinely what would our front 3 look like?

Would genuinely be something along the lines of Yang, Idah, and Tilio.

    That's absolutely * tragic.

Nygren would move to right wing and Engles would come on. Shin amd Osmand can also play right wing. New winger will be in over the next 3 weeks so not long to wait.

Can’t believe they seen how much money that came in from champion league last season and gambling on missing out on it this season. They should be giving Brendan best chance to win tie and get 40 plus million again

Mark hendry article on the CeltsAreHere Substack

Celtic’s pursuit of Jakub Breum has been nothing short of shambolic.
Go Ahead Eagles made their position clear from the outset: £5 million for their prized wide man — nothing more, nothing less. Michael Nicholson, in his infinite wisdom — perhaps nudged by the frugal figure above him — decided to kick things off with a £1.5 million offer.
Disrespectful? Maybe. But the Hoops do love a bargain hunt. A second bid followed, then a third worth £3 million. All swiftly booted into touch by the Dutch side.
Then came the twist. The Eagles sold Oliver Antman to Rangers, and their chief executive urged Celtic to take a leaf from their rivals in the transfer market. Jan Willem van Dop clearly had no idea of the delicious irony in his statement.
Because there’s more than one ironic thread here — and that’s where Dermot Desmond enters the frame. Whatever supporters think of him right now, Desmond hates second place. In anything. Losing to Rangers — in the league, the market, or anywhere else — does not sit well with him.
Now, let’s imagine Desmond only skims the headlines these days between rounds of golf. If you think Nicholson didn’t cop a serious dressing-down for allowing this perception to form, I’ve got some tartan paint to sell you.
Here’s the real kicker: Celtic could yet end up splashing out for Breum simply because Desmond can’t stomach the idea of any club — let alone one in Govan — believing Rangers are better operators than Celtic.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers looked a weary man as he faced yet another round of transfer questions midweek. He’s been consistent: three new attackers are the bare minimum — two wingers (with Breum one of them) and at least one striker.
For weeks he’s offered the standard reassurances: we hope, we’re confident, we expect. But this week felt different.
The 52-year-old sounded almost defeated, admitting he wasn’t sure if he’d get the players he wants. How the Celtic manager can be left in the dark about vital signings before a multi-million-pound Champions League qualifier is beyond a joke. Beyond parody. Fans demanding the board’s removal may as well save their breath — no one upstairs is listening.
Rodgers knows the purse strings won’t stretch far this summer. Lowball offers branded “laughable” by selling clubs should be enough to kill Celtic’s standing as a serious player in the market — yet the money men have been working this way for years.
Then there’s Johnny Kenny’s new contract. No disrespect to the striker — who may well have a future in Glasgow — but it felt like an odd move. Bolton Wanderers were never going to pay the £1 million price tag Celtic slapped on him, so the club’s next step was to present it as if keeping him was the plan all along.
Rodgers clearly has a role in mind for Kenny, and that’s fine — if you believe the manager will still be here next season. But if Kenny is genuinely the second-choice striker behind Adam Idah, ahead of Shin Yamada, it tells its own story. Rodgers knows reinforcements aren’t coming.
No matter how hard he pushes.

Imagine we actually didn't sign anyone else.

Also if a club asks for £5m in what universe will they accept that first offer...cmon. There's going in low and there's being a *.

    Lost for words, man.

Desmond most likely never saw the articles about GA Eagles making fun of us. We are a trivial asset to DD. He has "bigger things to worry about".
