Biting his tongue. A dereliction of duty from ginger baws Nicholson and his tight arsed * in the boardroom. A shambles from top to bottom.

Not surprised at that, zero links so I dont think we'll see any movement until closer to the end of the window, at this point it'll be 2 at the most imo, would be very surprised if we get another 3 or more.

I think the chance of him being here past this season is next to zero unless Lawell leaves. I dont think he'll leave mid season again however.

As things stand we will not win the league on how good we are, We will win it IF them cnuts dont perform.

Not much between the sides currently...i'd argue they have a better frontline.

Brendan would be justified telling them to ram it and that he has taken us as far as he has been allowed to.

Just dint get what we are playing at.

Why we are choosing to actively sabotage our season. Noone is going to answer for this either and time after time Rodgers is the one sent out to face the music.

Yang and Forrest for the play off.

The board looking for value, line, clearly shows that there's a disconnect in the targets. Just scunnered tbh. Only we could go into a season like this after years of success, and it's these * bringing us down again and causing disharmony.

I don’t actually think there is as huge a disconnect as we think as fans. Sounds from his words like the scouts alone pick the players now and he evidently says yes or no to the better players.

who is “Paul” that he referred to as the one and “his team” he sort the final details of the transfers?

You can tell he’s a bit miffed we haven’t worked quicker and got the quality he wants in but I think he’s now matured enough to realise this is how the clubs run. He says himself as long as the players are in by the end of the window it’s fine.

if we can’t get through against either of these teams in the play-off then we’re * * anyway and don’t deserve CL football.

    great interview by Brendan.

The value quote was worded as in we’re going for the right targets but just trying to get the value the board believes is best for them. (Obvs on the cheap).

I think if we weren’t trying to get the targets he wants he’d have pushed hard on the fact we need better. Whereas he didn’t even when pressed by multiple questions

We don't know, exactly, what's going on behind the scenes. No one can say for certain that Rodgers is completely blameless in this * up.

What’s his background Marty? I know we’ve always tried to get players on the cheap but seems like this year it’s been incredible how low our starting offers and second offers have been

We don't. But given this has been an issue without Rodgers being here I am willing to bet heavily on who is at fault.

True, we know we're cheap and notoriously difficult to deal with, but transfer issues have followed Rodgers wherever he's went, can't just be coincidence. With that in mind and until we know the full picture he can't be absolved of any blame.

Transfer issues in terms of lowballing fees and not getting priority players in on time, though? Not so sure. Can question the choice of player he's sanctioned at times but there's also other explanations for that. As it's not always as black and white there either.

Personally just feel that the issues we are experiencing here largely comes back to whoever is holding the wallet or negotiating the deals and that isn't Rodgers.

I suppose I'm just very unwilling to give the board any leeway here tbh. I doubt it was Rodgers idea to sell Kuhn and then almost 1.5 months later still not have a replacement in the door.

Don’t think he’s the issue here, they've identified a lot of great targets that would improve us. Issue is I guess the board give them estimates of what they feel each players is worth and then that’s what they’ve got to work with.

We’re literally getting linked to nobody, even though we can all see we badly need wingers. That’s not down to Rodgers.

I think he was probably always off after this one but if there was any glimmer, it's long gone now..

I personally wanted him to stay on as he's a top coach. We'll realise this when he's gone and penny pinching about in the 2-3 mill market still for the next rebuild..

That down to a good internal team keeping its mouth shut until it's close?

The board don't deserve any leeway and it isn't always black and white even with regards to lowballing and getting deals done. However, until we know for certain what is in the grey area then Rodgers cant be cleared of any blame, particularly when his history in the maket is factored in, and not just with identifying players.

Interesting interview, particularly the opening section.
