    Very good point.

He'll get plenty of game time over the season bcoz Tierney isn't going to play every game. If Scales is starting games at left back ahead of him then people would be justified in complaining about it.

    Absolutely is that!
Even idah, some fans (less so on here) are still finding excuses for him and giving him the benefit. He's just not * good enough :56:
Last year it was the endless "needs a full preseason" now he's had it, he looks even worse this year!

    Probably Kenny.

It is hard as the subs announced are pretty much the whack of our main squad, but when we all knew KT would need managed, seems mental not to have inamura on - more so when there is two strikers and what's the chances we would have subbed two strikers in one game?

If we trusted our recruitment, had any sort of modern sporting structure and had any sort of continuity plans we'd be business as usual whether Rodgers goes or not.

He’ll be too stubborn to bench Idah. He was obviously desperate to sign him and the board probably payed near double what they wanted to for him. He’s want him to finally hit a good consistent run so he can say I told you so.

I don’t think he’ll be given anywhere near the same budget as last summer which is understandable as no one we signed really took off.

Another couple of loans and a winger will be about it id imagine.

    Tierney
    Nygren
    Shin
    Winger
    Loan (Pusey)
    Loan (?)
    Inamura

That could be a very good window potentially. Or could go the other way but we won’t know until about Xmas.

That could potentially be a very good wind

One of the most annoying things with Rodgers is how slow he is with some players to give them game time when they clearly deserve it. Everyone can see Yamada is likely by far our best striker already yet doesn’t even get on.

His stubbornness is what causes most issues, I know the board are * about but he’s not helping things.

He's not playing them because it weakens his case for what he wants, it's like he's got his EPL hat on when it comes to transfers, probably wants players around the £10m mark
I don't see the board paying high prices for players again under Rodgers by high i mean above £5m.

I still think we'll get a winger though maybe another left back id want a RB because Tony's not good enough for Europe

I think he may have been told that they will go for some of his targets if they get into CL. If not, he will have to make do with "club" signings thats hes probably turned his nose up at so far.

Post Mirren he kind of shifted his position from being unhappy about the quality of the targets to emphasising that theres still plenty of time left in the window. Which hinted to me he expected late activity and would be prepared to wait in order to secure better targets.

If we drop points though - then he may launch a broadside or two.

From what I've seen of Nygren so far, he looks far more suited to playing through the middle. He simply doesn't have the pace we need in a wide position.

Been on the fence with this, but this window has confirmed it. Rodgers is done. He'll fulfil his contract/promise and leave after this season. I think the board are now fed up with him also. He's too ambitious for their miserly and power controlling ways.

We've seen Rodgers be totally honest and tactful in the media about certain things. The reply was via MON. A very gentle message. Disappointing that MON felt the need to do that.

I think we'll get a couple folk in, plough on and may make CL but get embarrassed in it and lose the league. The board will keep quiet and let it happen. Blaming Rodgers for the failures through their silence.

A quiet small war rumbling on via big ego's and the football side and its fans are the victims. A managed decline to keep us mediocre as football side and service us for their real ambitions. A money making business.

    I have said it before.

As much as the board won't splash the cash and holding celtic back with there penny pinching.

Rodgers rarely has a decent transfer window, too often he spends money on players that are no were near good enough. I also dont think he can attract big named players

Presser will be standard fare - he's already made his point and position very, very clear.

    I'm expecting nothing more than...
'on signings, nothing new to report, lots of work in background' and 'my focus is on the players we have here and the upcoming games'
