The Bunnet- Fergus McCann

Aye that's the train I was on. Got on the train at Bridgeton and said "A few too Celtic supporters on here for my liking". One guy made sure he and his missus had a seat and they chatted all the way to Central.

Didn't actually think it was him, just someone who looked like him, until I saw he was at the game.

Should be getting a statue or something outside the ground

 

If it wasn't for Fergus * knows where we would have ended up. Should be something to represent him

 

Bit disappointed the club never mentioned him at all on any social media


Should get more recognition than he does

 

Saved us from extinction so deserves a statue outside the stadium at least.

He knew how to save money without neglecting the playing squad. Something this board could learn from him.

 

Those train pics are brilliant.

What a guy, tbh I did get annoyed with him whem TB was manager as think the boat coulda been pushed out a bit for him, but wasnt involved in the boos that rang round the stadium back then. But he did so much and inevitably put us on our way to this dominant period in the millenium.

 

Said it a few times, we should be naming the North Stand after him, whilst he's alive to appreciate it..

He's the type to knock it back, but surely we should have been sending a car to get him.. tbf, maybe he didn't tell Celtic he was coming

 

He came across in the 90’s as a hard nosed businessman which he no doubt was but now as a very rich man he appears to be very humble jumping on the train with the fans.

 

He'd be the first to tell you himself - not interested in statues or stand renaming.

He (along with others mostly forgotten about, or unrecognised) saved the club, made us competitive again and walked away with a handsome profit, completing his promise.

Lapping up retirement in Canada somewhere living like a King.

 

You're probably right, he wouldn't want it.. still, it would be fitting i feel
