Planning on coming over soon, maybe in october. Anyone who can recommend a nice place to stay with some decent scenery? Maybe I need to elaborate more but taking my missus with me and want a calm "cozy" place. Is Helensburgh nice?

Personally if i went over alone i would go straight to the Gallowgate getting pished lol.

Helensburgh is not much cop. Personally I would recommend Troon.
Quiet, beautiful sandy beach, Open golf course, good amenities. Not expensive. Good bus, train and car links to Glasgow

Greenock (no laughing at the back)…

It has some of the best views going across the Clyde and especially from up Lyle Hill, cheaper compared to other places and loads of train stations that can get you to through to Glasgow quickly.

Also next door to Gourock and Wemyss Bay so easy to jump on a ferry to Dunoon or Rothesay for something a bit different.

Even going East to Falkirk area which has a lot to offer there’s a decent hotel in Larbert right next to the station and it’s pretty much between Glasgow and Edinburgh so dead handy.

It's been many years since I've been but the Isles of Glencoe hotel in Ballachullish might be the most stunning place I've ever stayed.

First picture is the view from your hotel room, second from where you have dinner and third looking at the hotel itself from across the water.

It has a pool, spa and sauna.

    About 90 minutes from Glasgow.

If willing to travel a little then Oban always been a great place for few days anytime i have been. Pretty laid back, can take a ferry day trip to some islands also. Further up the west coast, Portree on the isle of skye is worth a visit.
